Dear Sir and Madams,

It was recommended to me by a friend that I report this information to the Law Enforcement team, although I've yet to verify its authenticity.

Earlier this month I overheard some of the locals talking about a man they'd seen hanging around sixth and seventh districts for long periods of time. Apparently he wouldn't provide an explanation when questioned, and tended to vanish without warning once sighted. I've explored the area myself, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

The only identifying trait that I know of is that this man was wearing an eye patch. Zelda told me that one of the Empire's spies also wears one, which is why I'm writing you. It may be nothing but a rumor, and the two may be unrelated, however in the event that something suspicious is going on, I wanted to bring this to your attention.

RE: Imperial Fleet

I've told a few of you that the Empire was preparing a fleet. We expected them to take their people somewhere safe, but that's not what they're doing. According to our Intel, they're gathering their armies to attack Aqures Ixen. Esdham has confirmed our information. At the current rate, they should attack sometimes during July.

We're going to start evacuating the civilians to Trano and Flence once the World Cup over. I would tell you to leave as well, but Jessie says you should stay. Dunno what's on her mind, but odds are you're half the reason the Empire wants to attack us. Keep quiet about this, we don't want panic to take over the streets.

Those in the Law Enforcement, contact me if you'd like to help. Those who want to help but are neither in this nor the army, I think Jessie will contact you at some point.

To Any and All Heroes of Light that might be interested:

Some time ago I spoke with a few individuals about starting up a small band of Knights, or a patrol if you will, that would serve as a shield to aide in further protecting this world and its many precious treasures; lives and livelihood. I realize that there is an existing government and an army for most of the neighboring kingdoms, but we were obviously brought here for some greater purpose. Perhaps it is acting as sword and shield, or maybe it might be laying down our lives to see that the Calamity is no longer a fear. Either way, I'm more fond of the idea of being proactive rather than sitting here and becoming a fixture.

I'd like to try and help those who know nothing of the sword or bow to at least be proficient enough at both, and I welcome any help in doing so. My hope is that neither ever need be used, but even if one person learns to respect both, and can use them to better help the people of this world, than I can die happy knowing what knowledge I know was used for the better.

If I've spoken with you before, please remind me. So much has happened since I last spoke of this I fear I've not been able to keep a good memory of who that might be. If I haven't spoken with you before, then by all means, please speak with me at your earliest convenience. I am aiming to begin training early in the mornings come the beginning of next week.

Recently, I was happily getting two moogles to realize how they felt about one another and I had an unusual thought. I asked my moogle Artemis about it and he didn't want to answer. So I thought I might as well ask here.

But how exactly are moogles born? Do two moogles do that 'special hug' like normal people do? Or is it something like the story of the stork?

It's just a general wondering that I wonder if someone or somemoogle might be happy to answer.

[You should all be pleased to know that this is actually the second draft that Ven's written. He made the first, only for his moogle to criticize his handwriting and insist that he do it again, what with this being his first impression on the community and all. As deferential as he tends to be towards his elders, moogle or no, he gave in -- so while his handwriting is still less than desirable from a stylistic standpoint, it's readable. Be thankful that he wasn't in a rush.]

Does anybody have advice on the best areas to train outside of town? I've heard about the monsters so I thought that would be a good place to start, but I'm still getting used to this job thing. I don't want to overdo it until I know exactly what I can do now, especially since my moogle says some of those monsters are pretty crazy.

[His friends would be so proud to see him being cautious and thinking twice about things -- although the fact that Mograe all but begged him not to take chances at his current level had something to do with it. (Plus there's no guarantee he'll actually stick with this caution but that's neither here nor there at the moment.) And speaking of--]

And does anyone know a Terra or Aqua here? They're friends of mine from back home. They might have weapons with them that look like this

Whatever powers we've been granted, it sounds like we're going to need them. I'm not sure how much help I can be, but if anyone's new to the sword, I can try and lend a hand with that, too.

To My Fellow Heroes,

A lot has transpired in the past month, and while some might say it is not a necessity, I am wondering if there might be some of you interested in an idea I have been formulating over the past few weeks. I realize that the government here, as well as the neighboring kingdoms, have some sort of conscripted military force that acts as a defensive shield to the people here.

I want to stress that fighting is never the proper solution, but given recent circumstances I am inclined to think that we stand to be better prepared for such things if we are to be here for some time. My proposition is this: a small militia, a collection of knights and guardians who can be at the call of the city for whenever they are needed. Not just for the heroes, but the fair citizens of Aquares Ixen. It goes without saying that the Crystal of Fire is indeed a very important landmark, and the people who reside here are just as significant and important. If such a team already exists, then please disregard this notice. Otherwise, I implore you to reach out to me so we might organize and see just what can be done to ensure the safety of this land, its people, and its history.

If you've talent with a sword or with magic, any help would be greatly appreciated. Ideally, I would like to keep our numbers somewhat small at first, if only to see just how effective of a group we can be. Patrolling, surveillance, and many other tasks that would help to keep our new home all the more safer, that is the sort of team that I am looking to try and gather.

I am open to any ideas that you might have in regards to such a request, as well as opinions you might be holding to. I eagerly await what replies you might have.

So, I got an Invisibility Crystal for helping capture a Chocobo Eater for the old man at the Monster Arena. I don't really have any plans to take the Ninja Job, though. I was hoping I could make a trade with someone. Does anyone have a Crystal of Illusion? I already have some time invested in the Illusionist Job, so that would be a lot more useful for me. Greetings heroes,

New and old.

We've been through some trying times.

Lady Ashelia and I have been cleaning up the observatory so that the heroes will be able to use it. I'd love suggestions for the guild as well as those interested in helping us out because there is a lot of work still to be done. I know it is hard being here but banning together will be the easiest way to find our way back home.

Everyone does things differently and we don't want to tell anyone what to do. I hope to collect information about this world, the legends and what trials we might face. I have collected a lot of information for anyone curious as to what we currently know. I will be collecting my notes and putting them together for everyone to be able to read at the observatory.

I'd like those interested in helping organize our efforts meet to talk. Our situation is precarious and we must keep that in mind with our actions. It might be hard and times will be trying but we will all support each other. It's what makes us strong. I am happy to speak to anyone and my home is always open for visitors.
