Greetings,

With all that has happened of late, I realize that keeping these recipes to myself is far too selfish, regardless of my pride as an elf. Therefore, any Alchemist, aspiring or master, is welcome to the potions, tonics, and grenade recipes I copied down before leaving my world once more.

Yes, even the jar of bees.

Regards,
E.

[The letter is short and to the point, and those in house B-08 will likely spot her at the kitchen table copying down the recipes on separate pieces of parchment for those that respond.]

Hey.

I want to see the Calamity for myself. What's the best way to get out there and see it? I'll even put up with a guide if that's what it takes.

Everyone,

Palitulu wants our answer, in almost exactly a month's time. What do we plan to do about the Calamity? I know our final plan is acting on a lot of fronts, but one of those fronts could be very close to completed, if I can get a little more help from you.

The Interdimensional Rift Project at the lab. I need more help, more money, even though we received an incredibly generous donation already, it isn't quite enough. I'm working on building a Rift Manipulator, as close as I can get to a duplicate of the device that I helped create back home that did exactly what we need. It'll control the energies of the Interdimensional Rift, and if anything is going to get us inside there safely, this can do it.

But why do we need to bother with the Rift in the first place? The Calamity originated from there. Depending on which reports you read, either the First Crystal is in there, or it's in the center of Crystallis. Another team should begin exploring the Crystal Tree of Life to verify which place we need to go. If this Calamity is going to be permanently stopped? Then we need to repair the damage to that Crystal. Either way, the source of the Calamity itself is within the Rift. So we need to go there to stop it.

Like I said, the final plan is going to take a lot of fronts, but the Rift is not one that we can ignore. If literally anyone can help out at the lab? If anyone has spare money to push us over the finish line to donate? I need your help if we're going to fix the core problem behind the Calamity, instead of just hitting the reset button like Garland would, and shatter our worlds to give Crystallis one more cycle.

To Twilight Sparkle:

How viable is the Lunar Gate project? It appears that we are going to lose that location soon, and if so, then I need to return to that place to retrieve some property of mine.

Dear XXX,

I haven't been able to reach my brother Santa for the past two days. We usually talk all the time, so for him to be silent this long is more than just unusual, it's alarming. Have any of you seen him, or know where he was going? I'm getting really worried.

Aoi, if you get this, please let me know you're okay.

Sincerely,
Akane Kurashiki

[The following letter is hand-copied by Levy and her moogle, Mogjeel, and sent directly to the other Heroes of Light.  There's sensitive information inside, and she doesn't trust sending it through Mognet.  She had to agree to go out on a date with Mogjeel to get him to agree to the extra work, but for once, that's a price she's willing to pay.]

Hello everyone,

This is Levy McGarden, leader of the Crystallis chapter of the Fairy Tail wizard guild.  As some of you may know, I've spent a lot of time in Mysidia since the airships started traveling there, learning the art of enchanting magical items with the Blacksmith Job.  I've been thinking lately about how to use this to fight back against Palitutu if she really does end up attacking us on the Calm Plains in August, and I think I've come up with something we can use.

One of the things I've learned how to do from my Elezen teachers is how to imbue crystals with the abilities of the Jobs available to us.  Until now, I've only been practicing it using abilities from standard Jobs, but I think it may be possible to do the same thing with Advanced Jobs as long as I have the right people helping.  In particular, I know there's a skill that Crystal Knights have that prevents Jobs from being disabled.  Aside from the Ultima Weapon, that's Palitutu's biggest advantage over us right now.

I can't do this alone, though.  What I'll need is volunteers.  First, I'll need the cooperation of as many people as possible who have mastered the Blacksmith Job.  Alchemists are even better.  I'll show you the methods we'll be using, so don't worry about that.  Second, I'll need Crystal Knights to provide the Job Resistance skill we'll be duplicating.  And third, I'll need blank crystals - three to five for each person we're planning to protect this way, as we'll need to enchant an entire set of clothing or suit of armor to fully protect them.

We're not going to have enough time or resources to outfit all of the Heroes of Light like this, but if we get started now, we should be able to outfit enough of us to put up a fight if it comes down to it.  I'll be working on this as often as I can between now and her August deadline, but obviously, the more help I get the better.  If you're interested, send a reply back with Mogjeel - not through Mognet, as Palitutu is clearly still able to send letters through the system herself and may still have someone on the inside.

Regards,
Levy McGarden
Leader of Fairy Tail - Crystallis Chapter

((OOC Note: Reply here if you're interested in helping.  This will be a rolling effort taking place between now and Palitutu's deadline, so don't sweat the specific timing of when your character will be able to participate too much.  As long as Levy and at least one Crystal Knight are present with the necessary raw materials, she can work on this.))

To all Heroes of Light,

I'm sure most of you are by now aware of the unusual illness that has been going around over the past week. Thanks to the help I've received from a number of you, I have some important information to share.

It seems the virus started spreading about a week ago from the Behemoth that was recently given to the Monster Arena. However, it's not a type that is normally carried by Behemoths, or by any other monsters for that matter. More tellingly, the virus only infects Heroes of Light -- though it might be more accurate to say it infects our Crystals. I won't bore you with the technical details, but based on its structure I can confirm the virus is man-made and specifically engineered to be very easily transmitted.

While I'm confident I can create a cure, I will need help gathering the necessary ingredients. Most are available in Aqures Ixen, but there are three particularly important ones that are harder to get a hold of:

1) Cactuar sap. Cactuar Island is your best bet here.

2) An extraction from a very rare toad that can only be found in Aerilon. The toad can change its genetic properties very quickly to avoid predators, so be wary.

3) A chip from three Hero Crystals: one red, one blue, one clear. The last one I can provide myself, so I need two volunteers with red and blue Crystals to visit the lab for the procedure. Do not try to break off a chip yourself if you value your existence.

To my knowledge, there have been no cases with severe symptoms yet. I wouldn't count on this state of matters to continue. Whoever targeted us wouldn't have gone through all this trouble just to bother us with mild inconvenience. With that in mind, I ask anyone willing to look for the ingredients to do so at the earliest opportunity.

Sincerely,
Jade Curtiss

[OOC: There's a log for getting the special ingredients here. Anyone can take part and the threads are not modded, so go wild! Duplicates of the same ingredient are fine.]

To Whom It May Concern,

I know it seems that we're quite busy with everything seemingly falling apart, but I would like to ask for a favor of you all. There is an area back on the Continent of Ruin that I would like to investigate as soon as possible - the Lunar Gate. Obviously, there is something there that we can use to aid us in our quest to save this world, but I can't investigate it alone, so I need everyone's help in this.

As far as I can tell, I'll certainly need a Scholar, preferably with the ability to read Ancient, and someone with the Hacker Advanced Job, since the place looks incredibly hi-tech. I would also like to request that there should be someone with us with a decent combat ability just in case we actually need it as well as someone who can teleport - I can teleport as well, thanks to my slowly-restoring magic, but I would rather have someone with a reliable ability to do so.

Please respond to this ASAP if you would like to join me with this - we only have a little more than a month to explore the place before the Calamity swallows it.

- Faithfully yours,
Twilight Sparkle

[The letter comes after Meteor is absolutely certain that everyone has arrived and settled in. So even if you're a late arrival for whatever reason, there is a copy of the letter.]

To Everyone,

I hope this letter finds you well. It has come to my attention that our ranks have swelled once more, and rather than leaving it up to chance, I propose a event. A cookout, held at the Observatory gardens on Thursday, March the 10th between Noon till 9. Think of it as a mingle, a get together party in order to foster good spirits and wellness among our people. Of course our hosts are invited to this, Cid and his merry band of friends, as well as our other major suppliers and their moogles and interested folks from the regions.

I offer this token of friendship in the hopes that we will be able to get along.

RSVPing to this letter is not required, but it would also allow us to prepare tables and cooking equipment for everyone involved.

Yours in Eorzea,
The Adventurer
Warrior of Darkness

[The title Warrior of Darkness is added to all letters from Moggle Mog. When he can, Meteor tries to erase it.]
