Hello.

I'm sorry if this is an awkward question but I don't understand this Holiday. I'm not used to celebrating anything and I'm not sure what I'm suppose to be doing or if I should be doing anything at all.

Are there traditions?
Is that why everyone is wearing red and white?
Where did the holiday come from?
Are there any plants associated to this holiday?
Why are there letters to this man named Santa Claws?
What do people ask for?
Are we supposed to give gifts or receive them?
Do all worlds have this sort of holiday?
What is Christmas?

Dear all,

Happy Holidays!

For those who don't know last year I threw a Holiday Party! I plan to again this year as well. It will take place closer to the end of the month in Christmas Town. I hope that everyone will attend and wear festive outfits. I've sent along cookies and a little gift with this letter. It's my present for you this year. I hope you like it! I'm going to be back and forth between Christmas Town and the Observatory so if you need me let me know and I'll return. I will also post more exact plans closer to the date of the party. As always any help is appreciated!

[With each letter comes a small bag of cookies which a medley of sugary treats inside: sugar cookies, chocolate chip with and without walnuts, meringue cookies, gingerbread men, kopunut macaroons, snickerdoodles and peanut butter cookies. She tried to give everyone one of each cookie she's made. With the letter also comes a small gift. It's either a scarf, hat or a pair of gloves with a small note reading: Stay warm through winter.]

Season's Greetings!

I am writing to you from the Santa Village. Yuki and I boarded an ocean ship this morning so we could get a look at the village for ourselves. Work has only just begun, so I regret that there isn't much here at the moment, but there is certainly a great deal of promise. I'm certain your Moogle companions have already told you of what they hope the place becomes and how we can help. I would encourage you to do so. Even if there is much work to be completed, the village has an aura of peace and good will. I would like to ask those in charge if we might use it, and expand upon it, as a place of refuge should we be able to evacuate those who are currently threatened by the expansion of the Calamity. I do not know if my suggestion will be taken under consideration, but this is my hope.

In the meantime, I believe I will transfer my belongings here for the month and stay at the inn, possibly a house if I am able as I would like access to a kitchen. As I will be assisting with appearances as 'Mrs. Clause,' I believe the role would be greatly strengthened if I were able to bake seasonal cookies and treats. If you have any recipes, please send them to me. I would be exceptionally grateful, and the sooner I can practice, the quicker I can produce satisfactory results.

Please consider doing what you are able for this cause as well. Knowing what's coming, I believe that spreading joy and peace to the denizens of this world will help to strengthen and unite them. I hope to see you here soon, even if only for a couple of days. Whatever you can contribute would be greatly welcomed.

Dear Heroes of Light,

I know things have been difficult lately. The Observatory is open and clean for those who need shelter or a place to stay. My first priority was to fix it up and I hope that it helps those who have lost homes.

I am planning to have a meeting at the Observatory in a weeks time. Please let me know if you'd like to assist in anyway or if there is a topic you wish to talk about. The observatory will always be here and it's doors are open for those who need it.

Should you need me I will be there as well.

'Hello everyone. I wanted to thank everyone who helped me, and say hello to the ones I didn't meet. Tiger Festival said that this was the best way to reach everyone. He's writing this for me. I'm happy, because I met someone here who knows me, even though I don't really remember him. I hope that my memories will return soon, so I can share the same experiences with him. His name is Asbel. Asbel Lhant, and his moogle friend is Tern. You should be nice to them if you see them.

I wasn't able to introduce myself right when I met you all, but Asbel was able to tell me my name. It's Sophie! It's nice to meet all of you.'

I've decided to switch things up and go for a new job, you know, try something new, hopefully something exciting. However, it seems there's some sort of unfair barter system in place and... I have a job to do before I can get a job, so I earnestly ask if you know where to find something called a "Cactaur".. I need to bring one back in order to get this new job, so I'm hoping you'll join me~

I suppose I can get a few people together so if you'll be so kind as to join me in my little adventure, I would greatly appreciate it! I'm not hard to find, of course you know.

To Everybody:

Whether we've met or not, I'd appreciate a reply from as many people as are willing, especially if you didn't just come from a version of Earth.

So, let's talk holidays. Christmas, I was willing to let pass as a coincidence. Any civilized planet out there with a winter season ends up with some version of a winter solstice. It doesn't matter the time or the planet or the alien race, they've got some kind of tradition that we would recognize. Celebration for being 'almost out of the dark,' as a friend of mine would put it.

But Valentine's Day? Definitely a product of Earth, of a specific time period of Earth, to be sure. At least, in my experience. And that's where you guys come in. Anybody else, not from Earth, have a custom or a legend like this? Something specifically surrounding a holiday, something that's celebrated. Also, is anybody else reading up on Aqures Ixen legends enough to know if we're going all going to be dealing with rabbits and eggs in two months? If so, I'm calling shenanigans now.

I've been checking out the area around the Crystal of Fire and in the hospital. I didn't see any of the people who showed up in crystal stasis at the beginning of the month. I'm not really sure what it means. I have some guesses, but I don't want to make them out loud before I know more. But there's nothing to worry about right now... I think.
