Fellow Heroes of Light.

In the aftermath of our battle with Palitutu, questions have arisen as to how we will face the Emperor. Some amongst us are following what lead we have on the Calamity, others are trying save what can be saved or find what clues those before left for us. However, Garland's defeat will mean nothing if the Calamity is allowed to devour all worlds.

We have been told countless time victory is impossible, yet evidently this hasn't deterred us-- If anything all attempts to discourage us have only served to renforce our convictions, our belief in an eventual victory. And whilst I do share this belief, time is running short.

But nothing is set in stone. Thus my question: what are your plans to deal with the Calamity?

Fellow Heroes of Light.

I have have been studying what's happened before my arrival, in the hopes to find anything that could help us against Palitutu. While doing so, I stumbled upon an intriguing detail. She was only able to take control of Ultima Weapon because some Heroes of Light equipped with "Hacker" helped her subdue the Weapon.

I am no expert but wouldn't it be possible for Hackers to use their skills to try and disrupt the Weapon's systems? I cannot imagine she would allow you to hack it. But should you be able to weaken the attacks, delay them or fool the sensors of this terrible machine, this could prove to be vital in our upcoming fight with Palitutu. In particular those of you who helped her, should you still be awake, may be able to counter her.

Dear Friends and Allies,

I know we have difficulty collecting and sharing information, given the number and variety of tasks we are faced with. I thought perhaps we might discuss where things stand, as time seems to be running out far more quickly than initially believed in the Sage's vision. What crystals we have available to us, which regions we are protecting, these are all things we should be well aware of, as well as plans for what to do next.

In addition, a few months go I picked up a key fragment from the owner of the Monster Arena. He does not seem to know of any use for this, but if there are other fragments that the rest of you possess, we might be able to complete the key. (It very well may be just junk, but I have yet to see junk offered as a reward for a difficult monster quest.) I do not know what it is for. The Floating Ruins, maybe? Have we attempted to gain access to this place? It may be worth our while if we can figure out how to unlock it.

In any case, if you have anything unusual in your possession that you think might be of some use, I urge you to tell the others. We may be holding important clues in our hands, and simply be unaware.

Sincerely,
Rukia Kuchiki

Greetings.

I'd like to alert everyone to the fact the Calamity will reach the Temple of Water within a few days. As I doubt anyone wants to see what happens should the Crystal of Water be consumed, we need to take immediate action to move the Crystal out of harm's way. Unfortunately, the process of transporting the Crystal aboard an airship is a delicate and tedious process that would apparently take weeks, if not months, to undertake through normal means.

There may be one way around this, but it's not something the locals can handle on their own. Cid and Biggs have suggested that a group of Illusionists working together might be able to transport the Crystal safely. I'd like to therefore ask everyone sufficiently advanced in the Illusionist Job to contact me as soon as possible. Once we have enough people, I will speak with Cid and arrange a flight to the Temple.

Sincerely,
-Jade Curtiss

Dear Friends and Heroes,

As exciting as it was to find so many letters in my mailbox this morning, it really broke my heart to see how much the sage's projected dream affected you. I'm sure there are a lot more people out there that were heavily affected too, who just haven't put a pen to paper about it yet.

So, for what it's worth, I don't think less of any one of you. What we saw was based off of what the sage thought we would do if we had a certain degree of knowledge, right? But there are so many other factors that would change a person's behavior than just knowing something, especially if that change in behavior was as severely drastic as it was for some of you. But in the end, it's all just one big fable to warn us of how things could go, it's not a guarantee of what will happen. Tales of caution are nothing new, I could think of at least a hundred I was told growing up about what happens to little girls who forget to blow out the candle, or pick their neighbor's vegetables, or a dozen other ways to ensure I didn't misbehave. When you think about it, this isn't any different.

If you're worried about whether or not I can trust you after this, don't worry. I may not be able to speak for anyone else, but as for myself, I'm proud to know such a kind group of people so dedicated to protecting this world and the people they know. You're the type of people I want to write stories about, because you're inspiring, and brave, and good (even if it's in your own unique way). Sure, maybe a couple of you killed me in that dream, but I can't really take it personally.

Learn from what you saw, but don't dwell on it too much, because it didn't actually happen, and isn't likely to happen either. The future is still your own, and you get to decide your role in the history of this world that's yet to be written. I know you'll all do great things.

Your Friend,
Rialynn K.

Hi everyone,

There have been a lot of these going around lately, so I guess it's my turn.  I'm not proud of what I did in that dream, or the decisions I made.  Honestly, it scares me that anything the Sage could have said would cause me to do those things.  I can't even claim I'd never behave like that, because it would be a lie.  The dream we just saw is proof enough that I'm capable of it.  I betrayed everything Fairy Tail is supposed to stand for - I abandoned my friends and my guild, took shortcuts to power, and did what was easy instead of what was right.

I don't blame you all if you decide you can't trust me after seeing that.  I hardly trust myself at this point.  I won't ask for your forgiveness or your trust, because I feel like that's something I need to prove I'm worthy of having in the first place.  But I do think that all of this just proves how weak I really am, so I'm thinking of disbanding Fairy Tail.  A guild is no good without a strong and trustworthy leader, and I've just proven that I'm neither of those things.  So, to everyone, but to the members of the guild especially:

I'm sorry I couldn't be the friend I should have been.

With a heavy heart,
Levy McGarden

Fellow Heroes of Light.

It is difficult to ignore what's befallen us recently. I imagine many will be quick to cast judgment, but I wouldn't be so hasty to do so. The prosperity of our worlds hasn't been built solely upon good intentions and pure ideals. This ability to make painful choices if what makes us what we are.

Thus I have a simple question: if the situation called for it, would you be ready to accomplish what you have done in this vision?

To All Heroes of Light:

From everything I've seen and heard, Christmas and the Starlight Celebration sound really nice, but I have a question.

I don't want to put a damper on things, but I can't help but wonder why we need a special day or event in order to let friends know just how much they mean to us. Shouldn't that be something that's done all year round? Because you never know what can happen, right?

[ Such a cheery thought...sort of. ]

My apologies if this offends or depresses anyone.

~Sheena Fujibayashi

[ A note soon appears at the bottom. ]

Could someone please take Sheena out to do something? She's been doing nothing but work at the Library and stay home since Zelos went into stasis, and I think getting out will help--especially since yesterday was her birthday--but she won't listen to me.

~Corrine.

[ ooc: As Corrine said, Sheena's depressed that Zelos is gone and isn't really getting out and enjoying the season. If you'd like to "kidnap" the ninja at anytime from work or home, just shoot me a PM, since we all know how well plurk works at times. ]

Fellow Heroes of Light.

In my time spent here, it has become apparent to me that our future is grim. I have heard of the past cycles and of what happened before my arrival. Palitutu manipulating all of us to achieve her goals, Garland's ambition to have the cycle begin anew and the idea offered by Kalki to become the Calamity so as to create a new world.

Yet, I have seen none of you giving in to despair. At the contrary. In spite of all the hardships and trials you have faced, I have seen more hope and happiness among you than I have among the people in my homeworld. As a physician specialized in psychology, I find this fascinating.

Thus my question: how do you envision the ending to this story? Do you agree with the ideals pursued by the aforementioned people, or do you believe there is an alternative to their designs?
