[While everyone is enjoying their day, they might look away from what they're doing and look back to discover something new. Maybe someone is looking for an ingredient in their cupboard and they turn around to find a scroll on their cutting board. Or maybe there's a knock at the door and then a scroll when they get back to what they're doing. Dear Friends and Allies,

I know we have difficulty collecting and sharing information, given the number and variety of tasks we are faced with. I thought perhaps we might discuss where things stand, as time seems to be running out far more quickly than initially believed in the Sage's vision. What crystals we have available to us, which regions we are protecting, these are all things we should be well aware of, as well as plans for what to do next.

In addition, a few months go I picked up a key fragment from the owner of the Monster Arena. He does not seem to know of any use for this, but if there are other fragments that the rest of you possess, we might be able to complete the key. (It very well may be just junk, but I have yet to see junk offered as a reward for a difficult monster quest.) I do not know what it is for. The Floating Ruins, maybe? Have we attempted to gain access to this place? It may be worth our while if we can figure out how to unlock it.

In any case, if you have anything unusual in your possession that you think might be of some use, I urge you to tell the others. We may be holding important clues in our hands, and simply be unaware.

Sincerely,
Rukia Kuchiki

To whomever might be reading this,

My name is Miles Edgeworth and I am a district attorney from Los Angeles. I apologize for this strange method of communication but my cellphone is missing and I have lost my cellphone and there seems to be no way to access any other sensible form of communication, unfortunately. To be frank, I would be surprised if this bizarre talking robot bear actually has any effect,

I arrived in this bizarre place several hours ago and must make my way back to Los Angeles post-haste. Unfortunately, none of the locals seem to be of any use, as they keep telling me the same bizarre nonsense about me being some sort of magical chosen one and appear to think that I am intellectually incompetent enough to believe it.

There must be someone out here with a tiny amount of common sense. Therefore, if you are somebody who fits that description, could you please tell me the best way to contact the Los Angeles police department so I can get in touch with my detective and make my way home. You have my gratitude.

Yours sincerely,

Miles Edgeworth.

[Shortly after a huge wave of Heroes returned from wherever they were mysteriously transported, Duster heard news of the newest report. Compounded with what he saw on his travels, his day should have gotten worse, but one small implication stopped that: if he was here, that meant his world was safe. There was no way the Ancients would want to draw energy from a destroyed world.

That means it's in danger, but Duster feels more euphoric than upset because of that and another reason.
]

To everyone,

I hope you all made it back home safe and sound. I also had a long journey, but I think it's time we did something to lift our spirits. Now that we know the truth of this world, we can decide what our future will be before it's too late.

That's why I'm inviting all of the Heroes of Light to the Observatory next week for a slumber party. We'll get to know each other over food, music, and games and relax after everything that happened. Also, on my way back to Aqures Ixen, I finally got enough money to buy a double bass, so look forward to me performing for you guys!

I'm not too good at cooking lots of food, so I'll need help with that. If you have any ideas or want to help, you should tell me and we can sort this out.

See everyone there! Tonda Gossa!

To Whom It May Concern,

I know it seems that we're quite busy with everything seemingly falling apart, but I would like to ask for a favor of you all. There is an area back on the Continent of Ruin that I would like to investigate as soon as possible - the Lunar Gate. Obviously, there is something there that we can use to aid us in our quest to save this world, but I can't investigate it alone, so I need everyone's help in this.

As far as I can tell, I'll certainly need a Scholar, preferably with the ability to read Ancient, and someone with the Hacker Advanced Job, since the place looks incredibly hi-tech. I would also like to request that there should be someone with us with a decent combat ability just in case we actually need it as well as someone who can teleport - I can teleport as well, thanks to my slowly-restoring magic, but I would rather have someone with a reliable ability to do so.

Please respond to this ASAP if you would like to join me with this - we only have a little more than a month to explore the place before the Calamity swallows it.

- Faithfully yours,

Hey hey hey!

It's Selphie here and it seems that the powers that be like making me a Red Mage. So learning magic isn't a big deal and I've got the experience to handle weapons and all but I have a problem!

I don't know how to use a sword. There seemed to be some golden rule about not letting me have one where I came from but I'd really like to know how to use one. I guess I could always fight hand-to-hand but if anyone is willing to teach a gal how to use a sword properly so I don't accidentally topple into people and send swords flying through the air to attack a defenseless tree...

Well...

Let me know!

[This letter arrives with no greeting and no signature. Santa, who was willing to put his name all over the sexy calendar effort is not owning up to this one.]

Ok, so, the Calamity thing is getting pretty serious. Shit's getting real, and we gotta do something about it if we wanna keep living here.

We know that that Sage asshole can project into the future. What I wanna know is, does anybody else here have that kind of ability? Time travel, precognition, shared consciousness. It's real. Some people are able to do it. I...can't, but I can help receive messages from the people who can.

If you don't know what the hell I'm taking about, then I don't wanna hear from you. But if you got any experience with this kinda stuff, write me back and maybe we can meet up. If we can check out possible futures, maybe we can find one that isn't complete shit.

Greetings.

I'd like to alert everyone to the fact the Calamity will reach the Temple of Water within a few days. As I doubt anyone wants to see what happens should the Crystal of Water be consumed, we need to take immediate action to move the Crystal out of harm's way. Unfortunately, the process of transporting the Crystal aboard an airship is a delicate and tedious process that would apparently take weeks, if not months, to undertake through normal means.

There may be one way around this, but it's not something the locals can handle on their own. Cid and Biggs have suggested that a group of Illusionists working together might be able to transport the Crystal safely. I'd like to therefore ask everyone sufficiently advanced in the Illusionist Job to contact me as soon as possible. Once we have enough people, I will speak with Cid and arrange a flight to the Temple.

Sincerely,
-Jade Curtiss

I know times have been troubling lately for us all. There is much to discuss, but we should also keep our morale up. One thing that I have had cause to consider, recently, is the differences between our worlds.

Cuisine comes to mind.

I thought that, perhaps, a collection of recipes from our disparate worlds -- ideally, ones we can prepare in Crystallis or modify to -- would be interesting and a boon.

What do you think?

Sincerely yours,
Robin

To: All Heroes of Light,

Having just returned from an extensive rotation at Esdham I felt it important to inform you all of the latest developments in the Republic -while there are many details that I'm bound by my occupation not to disclose there is, after all, more general information that might prove suitable to our cause as Heroes of Light.

Since the loss of the Heran capital, Esdham has it's attention between monitoring the situation in Nabilia as the Calamity draws closer to the city and also providing some security to Continent of Ruin since the deactivation of the barrier. Given the substantial losses incurred as a result of the Ultima Weapon, it's no small exaggeration that manpower is stretched just about as thin as it can be; hence even my own extended duty away after the last fortnight. The situation is hindered further by an overarching concern for the future within the citizenry at Esdham itself. After all, the Calamity will be on our doorstep once it expands outside of Heran territory.

I'm pleased to report that the military can now provide a Airship service to-from the Mysidian Tower, subject to authorization by any military personnel. Varaha has since dispatched a contingent to further secure the location, but I suspect there is still a great deal that could be learned, not least from the simulation at its apex.

Lastly, I would appreciate anyone that might be inclined to bring me up to speed with goings-on in Aqures as of late. Spencer has informed me of a VHS-video that I should take the time to watch and would invite the company of those more informed of it to join me in watching, in case there are questions that might already have been answered since.

~Sephiroth

[Additional P.S. specifically for Jade, Zelda, Ales, Kidd, Vincent & Cloud only; also is enclosed a copy of Sephiroth's official report regarding the expedition to the Mysidian Tower, including a translation of the majority of the Ancient-written journal he found.]
P.S: I felt it prudent to inform, yet not draw too much attention to the fact that I'm now in possession of a Sapphire Crystal, of the kind that may be used to protect a specific area from the Calamity. I'd appreciate if it this knowledge could well be kept between ourselves until such a time that it becomes clear of where it should be applied.

[P.S. #2 for Terra only]
P.S #2: I'm truly sorry for the overdue, and mostly unexplained absence that my duties have caused in this instance. I hope that you're alright and will be home for when you get in tonight. I've no plans now for the next few days as well so if there is anything you'd like to do, you need just ask.

[ooc: Feel free to take any thread into Action from here, concerning accompanying Sephiroth in watching the video or even welcome him back in another location!]

Greetings.

It’s been a long time, but I have some things to share. We are investigating what’s happened with the other group of Heroes of Light last week. Unfortunately, we haven’t turned up anything. The healers are at a loss, as are our researchers. The only certainty is that all these heroes of light dying at the same time cannot be a coincidence. Someone or something must have been behind this. They had been just fine for months and died shortly after reaching Mysidia and Aqures Ixen. As it is, we cannot exclude the possibility there is an enemy in this city or Mysidia.

Also, the Moogles working at Palitutu’s Laboratory communicated us a report about the Crystal of Fire. According to them, its energy levels are far below what it was two years ago and they keep dropping, especially when more of you come in. They say at this rate, it’ll be at the same level of energy than the other Crystals in a year, maybe even less. Practically, it means there won’t be any more Heroes of Light coming to Crystallis once this happens. It might also affect your immortality and crystal stasis, but how we don’t know yet.

Jessie, I mean Palitutu, would probably have the answer to all these questions, but we haven’t heard anything from her since the imperial attack last year. The Crystal of Fire running out of energy at the same time the Calamity is expected to have completely crystallized the planet is certainly not a coincidence either. She must have planned for this. You have to prepare yourself not to play into her hand.

If you know anything, please tell us. I’ll inform you as soon as we get any concrete information.

To everyone-

Ok, so, here's the thing. I guess some of you Heroes aren't too hard on the eyes, and we could stand to make some money for the people that've been pushed around by the Calamity.

Luckily for you, I've got an idea. I'm starting up a charity calendar. A sexy charity calendar. If you're ugly or not a decent enough person to wanna help out some orphaned kids, you need not apply.

Everyone else, here's what we need:
-Investors. You'll get paid back, with interest, when we make back our production cost. The rest of the proceeds go to Santa Village.
-Photographers. Or artists. I don't know if cameras are a thing here, so we may need to draw this shit.
-Sexy Heroes. Like I said, old hags or creepy dudes can stay the fuck home.
-Moogles, to help with printing and distribution.

If you got anything to say to me, I guess write me back. Write me or come find me if you're gonna be a part of this.

-Santa

My Friends and Allies,

I have good news regarding the refugees of Hera. After speaking with their representative, a woman named Prajapati, I am pleased to report that over half of the city was evacuated before the Calamity consumed it. We've conferred with the Moogles of Santa Village, who are willing to donate the buildings to these refugees. Those who survived are willing to help with additional construction in order to house their numbers. They will begin settling in the latter half of the month.

Those of you who are willing to donate your labor and any additional supplies would be greatly appreciated. There is much work to be done. In addition, we must turn our sights to Nabila City and Flence. We do not know if the Calamity will move after them next, but as it seems likely, we must prepare for their evacuation as well as a worst case scenario.

As for the Temple of Water, I am unsure if we can move the Crystal or not. Those of you who know how it may be done, I advise you to inform the rest of us so that we may do what is necessary.

We're in for a long fight, and we still don't have the answers we need as to how to stop the Calamity. But I do believe the solution is out there. Until we find it, let us strive to protect as many people as we can. Should you ever need my assistance, you have but to ask.

Your Friend,
Chrom

Dear Heroes of Light,

I don’t expect anyone to trust me now. This isn’t something I should freely admit but I don’t know if I should trust myself. I know I had good intentions in those visions but that doesn’t change my actions. I lost faith in the heroes and my friends. It isn’t excusable.

However, I don’t believe that the future is set. I’m not going to make the same mistakes as the girl from that vision. We were divided and that made the heroes weak. Everyone thought they were doing what was best and they fought each other more than they did the Calamity. I don’t want that to happen. I don’t want us to divide.

It won’t be easy. Nothing worth fighting for is easy but I want to hold us together.

We can have different ideas and thoughts but if we come together we can find a real solution. I believe this and I realize it’s hard to believe after that experience but I don’t want to give up. Be kind, be strong and be open. Others might not understand our thoughts but if we take the time to listen there is a chance. I’m just as guilty as anyone else in this regard. There are so many parts of me I’ve hidden because I thought it made me strong.

There are things I’m scared of and I realize now I shouldn’t face that fear alone. I shouldn’t hide when I am unsure or afraid. I don’t want to pretend I know what’s going to happen or what’s happening now.

I know I’ve always taken a place where I could try and help, where I could guide those who wake up and provide as much information and resources as I can. I’m alone at the Observatory now and if someone better suited wished to take up this post I wouldn’t dispute it.

Saying I’m sorry won’t change anything. So I’m going to do something about it, I’m going to change the future. I won’t believe its set in stone.

Fellow Heroes of Light.

It is difficult to ignore what's befallen us recently. I imagine many will be quick to cast judgment, but I wouldn't be so hasty to do so. The prosperity of our worlds hasn't been built solely upon good intentions and pure ideals. This ability to make painful choices if what makes us what we are.

Thus I have a simple question: if the situation called for it, would you be ready to accomplish what you have done in this vision?

Everyone,

I debated whether or not to tell everyone about this, but I figured it would be better to tell people, and get hopes up, rather than to not tell anybody, and have you all miss your chance.

Last year, on the night of the dual full moon, I went to the Observatory, the one we all work in now? I thought I'd get just a really good view of a unique astronomic event. Instead, when I looked through the telescope, I could see home. 21st Century Earth. Could see the lights and everything. It was different for everybody, when the Lady Zelda looked through, she could see her planet, Hyrule.

It was only visible for a few hours, and we never figured out what caused it. I don't even know if it's going to happen again. But the full moon happens again on January 30th. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm going to be camped out at the Observatory that night. And if anyone wants to join me, see what happens, then, of course everyone's welcome to. Maybe we just get a night of sitting around and talking about home. Or maybe we'll get to see something amazing.

[To: All Heroes of Light]

Please excuse my delay in issuing this notification.

I can now confirm that it has been reported and verified by further witnesses within the military at Esdham, that indeed the Calamity has once again begun it's expansion.

Case in point, the Imperial City of Hera has now succumbed to the crystallization inherent to those locations seized by the same.

However, preliminary reports from closer to the Pass of Roalie are suggesting that something unusual has befallen the City. A great, crystalline structure observed on the horizon; much grander in scale than any of the architecture of the Herans.

For any that might desire to investigate, I offer one solid piece of advise; don't. The Calamity was stirred once by the presence of Heroes, there is no telling what rate it might increase to should there be an expedition out towards it.

I shall be embarking on an expedition today, in Mysidia so there most likely will be delay with any replies.
Trusting to have informed you well.

[At sometime between 1st and 7th December, a copy of this letter is thrust through the letterbox, under the door, or in the postbox of every house that a Hero is resident in - except B-09. It might be in blue, red or green depending on which color is for that particular day, and has silver lettering though it's not been sent through Mognet. Also open to anyone who might want to catch Spencer in the act.]

Dear Hero(es) of Light,

I hope that you'll excuse the manner in which this letter is sent but I need to keep it strictly hush-hush.

First off, it's quite amazing how many of you have taken it upon yourselves to help spread the festive cheer of the Starlight Celebration around Crystallis. We are truly blessed to have such enthusiastic Heroes wanting to make this time of year special for just about everyone.

Stuff the threat of the Calamity and quite rightly so.

However, I wonder if you might be able to help me. My own Hero has not experienced much in the way of all the delightful things that this season can bring to just about anyone should they open their heart to it and after this last year I think it's more important than ever that someone needs to change that. He seems fully committed to simply carrying on with his responsibilities as if it could just be ignored.

I overheard as well, that he didn't even pause to acknowledge his own birthday last month. I didn't even know the date.

Anyone who would be willing to help me in figuring out this frustrating set of circumstances would be most welcome. I'm not even sure that I'd know what to get for him for Starlight this year.

If you could please send any replies directly to me, Spencer, delivered to House B-09 itself (not through mognet please as I'd likely be strung up for even distributing a letter this way)

Apologies again, thank you kupo.

Dear all,

Happy Holidays!

For those who don't know last year I threw a Holiday Party! I plan to again this year as well. It will take place closer to the end of the month in Christmas Town. I hope that everyone will attend and wear festive outfits. I've sent along cookies and a little gift with this letter. It's my present for you this year. I hope you like it! I'm going to be back and forth between Christmas Town and the Observatory so if you need me let me know and I'll return. I will also post more exact plans closer to the date of the party. As always any help is appreciated!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

Your Friend,

Zelda
