[For those that know of Sephiroth's penchant for sending Mognet mail directly via Spencer and not via the duplication systems in place at Mognet Central will be surprised to note that this letter will come through in the morning in the usual way. Either Sephiroth has conveniently forgotten why, or this really is a message intended for all that might read it.]

This may come as something of a late announcement, I hope that you can accept my apologies for the silence.

I recently returned from Crystal Stasis, and it seems that a vision of my future has indeed already come to pass.

But, everything will be alright. I know that now.

[After a month of getting to know the city, listening to news, and experimenting with his new powers, Jade felt it was about time he paid a visit to the hospital. The crystals were fascinating to begin with, but it was the stories of people falling into stasis that had truly caught his attention.

Well, that wasn't quite accurate. The intriguing bit had been his Moogle fervently claiming that the phenomenon could even return dead Heroes to life. Come to think of it, there had been a letter from Jessie earlier that month claiming the same thing. Such a thing was impossible, of course... but perhaps he had been too hasty in dismissing the idea. There had to be a logical explanation, and he had every intention of finding it.

So Jade asked to see his crystallized comrades, took his time to witness for himself the fate they had met... and stopped to stare at one particular frozen face, dumbfounded.

"Luke...?"]

[A brief letter reaches the other Heroes shortly after.]

Greetings to you all,

I would like anyone who met Luke fon Fabre prior to his Crystal Stasis to contact me at the earliest opportunity. To everyone else, I have a question: Were any among you near death prior to being brought to Crystallis, only to appear here in perfect health?

[This letter is sent in the afternoon 18 October, depending on where your character is it may take longer for them to receive it. Though it's written in Sephiroth's usual left-handed handwriting, it's easy to tell that it was written in a hurry - a few 'i's not being dotted and 't's not being crossed.]

I understand that it's dangerous to send Spencer with this letter given the injuries that have befallen some of the moogle population. But we both agreed it was important to let you know this.

As with Princess Hilda, I too found myself Job-less a few days ago - just as the miserable snap of weather swept in. I wonder if it's related.

But this morning, I tasted a rush again.

SUBJECT: Our Fate

Heroes,

For those of you who don't know me yet, my name is Snow Villiers. I arrived with the first batch of heroes, maybe three months ago now. I'm sorry for not getting out and greeting the new people lately, but it is what it is.

I wish I could say this was a happy letter. There's been something on my mind since I first got here, but I didn't want to cause a panic until I knew for sure what was going on.

Well, I know for sure now.

This whole 'Heroes of Light' thing? It's a curse. We're cursed, and we're running out of time. I'm sure you've all noticed Heroes among us going into stasis, turning into crystal. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's not the worst ending for us. The Crystal of Fire gave us a task, and if we complete it, our reward is to turn into crystal. If we fail, our punishment is to turn into a monster. A Cie'th. It's the same for me back home. Or, at least, it was.

How do I know this? I've just been given my one-way ticket to Cie'th Town. It'll start with a brand. Over time, you'll start to get arrows, followed by an eye. When the eye opens all the way, it's lights out. Game over.

If you can remember any sort of dream or vision before waking up here in Aqures Ixen, that's the only key you have to avoiding this fate. I guess I didn't figure out what mine meant fast enough. I still have some time, but...
