Dear Fellow Heroes of Light,

My name is Eleanor Hume. I arrived last week.

At that time, my moogle informed me of something called a 'Calamity Self,' a shadow that we heroes must defeat to unlock our full potential. Although I would prefer to wait until I'm settled to undertake this task, I've been told the situation is dire. I've also been told that our shadows are dangerous to face alone.

I'm requesting help from other Heroes to face my shadow. I know it must seem odd to get such a personal request from a stranger. To tell you the truth, I'm not entirely comfortable with it myself, but if we're going to beat the calamity, we'll all need to trust each other and work as allies.

Everyone:

Now that all the celebrations and whatnot are out of the way, we can return to focusing on the saving the world business. From the looks of it, there's not much time until the entire world is overtaken by the Calamity. That means we have to come up with a strategy now.

I spoke to Biggs last week, and he mentioned an upcoming meeting with world leaders on the 25th to discuss what our plans to save this and other worlds will be. Not that all of you have to go to that one, but I'd rather our group be prepared and have a solid opinion to bring.

Therefore, I suggest we bring back the old tradition of holding a meeting in the Old Observatory this month, possibly on the 13th. There's been a lot we've discovered the past few months, and if there's something that must be shared with the group, bring it there. And if you're a new arrival, all the better as your questions will be answered there.

I expect to see everyone there. Even if you'll be in another city without a return flight, remember that I do have a personal airship. There's no time to be lazy when the fate of the world's in danger.

Oh, and if you're the sort to cook or set up the meeting room, please please please respond.

Happy Holidays everyone! ♪

I’d like to cordially invite all of you to Cuppa Kupo’s first annual holiday party! ♥ Selphie and I were talking, and with both the starlight celebration and Christmas coming up, she felt like it was a good idea to do something festive. We’ll be closing down the restaurant for an evening, and everyone’s welcome to come party. ♪ Right now, we’re thinking of having it on the 23rd, if nothing changes.

There’s plenty of things to take care of for the party, so we’ll also be asking for volunteers! ♪ I know the heroes of light are very helpful ♥, so we shouldn’t have any shortage of people signing up. We’re asking for people to help set up, run games, and bring extra food.

Oh! And it’s not Halloween, but to help everyone get into the spirit, we’re making this into a costume party, too! ♪ I can’t wait to see everyone’s best Santa and elf costumes! If you don’t have one, don’t worry, the cafe has a few extras. ♥

What do you do to pass the time? Not all of it can be spent working toward the cause of snuffing the Calamity. (Can it?) Things are little more quiet now that some of the kids have succumbed to the Crystal Stasis phenomenon.

[Selphie had felt the pain of Zelda's death and the people that could have explained it weren't handy or in a talking mood. Instead, the perky brunette is left to hear from word of mouth of the death of a Hero of Light and thought long and hard about what she could do to help. As Cuppa Kupo has fallen into her hands, this seemed like a logical step for her to take.]

To Everybody,

I... don't really know what to say right now. This doesn't feel right, or fair and I know it's gonna be hard for everyone involved.

That said, if anyone wants a safe place to sit and think for a bit, Cuppa Kupo is open to you. I learned that a cup of tea and a person who's willing to listen can help more than any other action. Please know that you don't have to suffer alone.

Anyone is welcome and you're not alone.

To all Heroes of Light,

I'm sure most of you are by now aware of the unusual illness that has been going around over the past week. Thanks to the help I've received from a number of you, I have some important information to share.

It seems the virus started spreading about a week ago from the Behemoth that was recently given to the Monster Arena. However, it's not a type that is normally carried by Behemoths, or by any other monsters for that matter. More tellingly, the virus only infects Heroes of Light -- though it might be more accurate to say it infects our Crystals. I won't bore you with the technical details, but based on its structure I can confirm the virus is man-made and specifically engineered to be very easily transmitted.

While I'm confident I can create a cure, I will need help gathering the necessary ingredients. Most are available in Aqures Ixen, but there are three particularly important ones that are harder to get a hold of:

1) Cactuar sap. Cactuar Island is your best bet here.

2) An extraction from a very rare toad that can only be found in Aerilon. The toad can change its genetic properties very quickly to avoid predators, so be wary.

3) A chip from three Hero Crystals: one red, one blue, one clear. The last one I can provide myself, so I need two volunteers with red and blue Crystals to visit the lab for the procedure. Do not try to break off a chip yourself if you value your existence.

To my knowledge, there have been no cases with severe symptoms yet. I wouldn't count on this state of matters to continue. Whoever targeted us wouldn't have gone through all this trouble just to bother us with mild inconvenience. With that in mind, I ask anyone willing to look for the ingredients to do so at the earliest opportunity.

I'm taking a ship to Aqures Tosf. I intend to see what happened, if possible, after we were forced to flee that place. Anyone else is welcome to join me if they wish, but I will not wait to accommodate schedules. The boat leaves the harbor on April 17th, and will return to pick us up on the 21st.

Dear Heroes of Light,

Cid asked The Adventurer and me to put together a list of magic spells to make it easier to choose your jobs based on these abilities. I should state first of all that we didn't always have an exact way to measure which spells were stronger than others (such as Fire Breath or Flamethrower), so some of it is just an estimate. We sorted the list into three categories: spells against a single target, spells against multiple targets, and energy-based physical attacks. Each list is sorted by the element involved: Fire and Ice are opposing elements, as are Thunder and Water, Earth and Wind, and Light and Dark.

Some of you already know this, so bear with us. The list is mostly for those (like me) who don't really deal with a lot of magic back home.

Hey everyone~! ♪

This is everyone’s favorite, the super cute superchef Anise writing you today ♥. And I’m writing because I really need everyone’s help!

Since Fai and Yuna fell into stasis at the end of last month, Cuppa Kupo is really understaffed. I found a couple of moogles to help with cleaning and keeping up the shop, but it’s too much to for someone as cute and fragile as me to handle alone!

I’m looking for more part-time workers, probably around three or four people, but we can take more, too! We have spots open for both cooks and waitstaff, and the pay is flexible~! Plus, you can make really good money on tips. And, you get to work with an adorable staff of moogles (and me). What’s not to love? ♥

I know that everyone’s really busy with their other jobs and hero work, but it’d be really cool if you could help out! I think it would mean a lot if Fai and Yuna woke up from stasis and saw the cafe doing really well.
