Everyone:

Now that all the celebrations and whatnot are out of the way, we can return to focusing on the saving the world business. From the looks of it, there's not much time until the entire world is overtaken by the Calamity. That means we have to come up with a strategy now.

I spoke to Biggs last week, and he mentioned an upcoming meeting with world leaders on the 25th to discuss what our plans to save this and other worlds will be. Not that all of you have to go to that one, but I'd rather our group be prepared and have a solid opinion to bring.

Therefore, I suggest we bring back the old tradition of holding a meeting in the Old Observatory this month, possibly on the 13th. There's been a lot we've discovered the past few months, and if there's something that must be shared with the group, bring it there. And if you're a new arrival, all the better as your questions will be answered there.

I expect to see everyone there. Even if you'll be in another city without a return flight, remember that I do have a personal airship. There's no time to be lazy when the fate of the world's in danger.

Oh, and if you're the sort to cook or set up the meeting room, please please please respond.

I’d like to cordially invite all of you to Cuppa Kupo’s first annual holiday party! ♥ Selphie and I were talking, and with both the starlight celebration and Christmas coming up, she felt like it was a good idea to do something festive. We’ll be closing down the restaurant for an evening, and everyone’s welcome to come party. ♪ Right now, we’re thinking of having it on the 23rd, if nothing changes.

I write to you from the contaminated city of Trano Golsaucia. As most of you are no doubt aware, the threat of powerful monsters is especially prevalent in this area, and they will not be daunted by city walls. The Tarutarus who live here will not be persuaded to leave their home in spite of the danger, nor do I believe they should have to. As Heroes who possess the skills and courage to fight these monsters, I would expect at least five of you to come to the city immediately and drive off the current threat. Needless to say I will be assisting you in these efforts.

In the meantime, the rest of you would do well to search for a Diamond Crystal in order to decontaminate this area from Narayana's vile influence. Security details made specifically to fight monsters is only a temporary solution that doesn't address the root of the problem. These people deserve a safe place to live. Please make your way here promptly so that we may begin our work.

It's Selphie here and it seems that the powers that be like making me a Red Mage. So learning magic isn't a big deal and I've got the experience to handle weapons and all but I have a problem!

I don't know how to use a sword. There seemed to be some golden rule about not letting me have one where I came from but I'd really like to know how to use one. I guess I could always fight hand-to-hand but if anyone is willing to teach a gal how to use a sword properly so I don't accidentally topple into people and send swords flying through the air to attack a defenseless tree...

You know, the people root for you. They really, really like you and think you'll save the world. Not just the people in Aqures Ixen, but to a lesser extent in Trano and Balicea too, and probably a bit in other cities as well. They truly believe you're all a bunch of heroes out to save the world. Even children look up to you. And that's great! I'm rooting for you too, in my own way.

But then, you've got the morons. People named, I don't know, Deadpool or Reno, maybe? That kind of morons, who think cheating in an official election is the best thing to do. I actually like Merlose and think she's deserved her victory. But then, we've got people over here who asked, did she win because she's competent or because the Heroes of Light rigged the election?

And suddenly, you're no longer heroes in the eyes of the people, you're just another bunch of crooks in a rotted world. Now, Wedge is pleading for you and that accident probably won't have lasting consequences. Merlose won by quite a margin so I doubt what these two idiots did changed much anyway. You may have a few Moogles side-eying you for awhile though.

And don't think just because you're called Heroes of Light, we'll think of you as Heroes regardless of what you do. If you start acting like criminals, the people will think of you as such. I know most of you know better, so keep an eye on those who would compromise your reputation.

From everything I've seen and heard, Christmas and the Starlight Celebration sound really nice, but I have a question.

I don't want to put a damper on things, but I can't help but wonder why we need a special day or event in order to let friends know just how much they mean to us. Shouldn't that be something that's done all year round? Because you never know what can happen, right?

If we all share the same goal in resisting The Calamity, then I would be happy to oblige. This unified movement is imperfect, however, as not even Crystallis' divided nations can seem to agree to disagree and work together in spite of different values. I'm writing this letter because it would benefit us more to focus on the challenge at hand instead of celebrating festivities. The odds are unfavorable, but not yet deemed impossible.

Yet, I have seen none of you giving in to despair. At the contrary. In spite of all the hardships and trials you have faced, I have seen more hope and happiness among you than I have among the people in my homeworld. As a physician specialized in psychology, I find this fascinating.

Thus my question: how do you envision the ending to this story? Do you agree with the ideals pursued by the aforementioned people, or do you believe there is an alternative to their designs?

Season's Greetings!

I am writing to you from the Santa Village. Yuki and I boarded an ocean ship this morning so we could get a look at the village for ourselves. Work has only just begun, so I regret that there isn't much here at the moment, but there is certainly a great deal of promise. I'm certain your Moogle companions have already told you of what they hope the place becomes and how we can help. I would encourage you to do so. Even if there is much work to be completed, the village has an aura of peace and good will. I would like to ask those in charge if we might use it, and expand upon it, as a place of refuge should we be able to evacuate those who are currently threatened by the expansion of the Calamity. I do not know if my suggestion will be taken under consideration, but this is my hope.

In the meantime, I believe I will transfer my belongings here for the month and stay at the inn, possibly a house if I am able as I would like access to a kitchen. As I will be assisting with appearances as 'Mrs. Clause,' I believe the role would be greatly strengthened if I were able to bake seasonal cookies and treats. If you have any recipes, please send them to me. I would be exceptionally grateful, and the sooner I can practice, the quicker I can produce satisfactory results.

Please consider doing what you are able for this cause as well. Knowing what's coming, I believe that spreading joy and peace to the denizens of this world will help to strengthen and unite them. I hope to see you here soon, even if only for a couple of days. Whatever you can contribute would be greatly welcomed.

To Those Brave Enough, To Those Who Do Not Fear Death, To Those With a Thirst For Adventure,

An expedition is set to leave the harbor closest to the city within the day. Preparations, supplies, and all manner of readiness is currently underway as the Mugiwara Crew, piloting the vessel known famously as the Chasing Joy, will be embarking on a search for the mysterious vessel that has recently been seen sailing through nearby waters.

The Mugiwara Crew is currently allowing those who feel both courageous and bold, who have a strong sense of will and a sturdy pair of sea legs, to set sail and confirm the superstitions of this ghastly ship as either fact or fiction.

If you feel that you meet the above qualifications, please meet at the docks by 5:00 PM this afternoon. We'll set sail during the evening once final preparations and crew have been introduced and set on board the ship. We shall sail for a short time, no more than a few days to a week at most.

Be advised: There may not BE a return voyage, depending on how successful we are in our venture. The danger is real, and not to be taken lightly.

Any questions, concerns, opinions, and the like, can be brought to the attention of our Captain, Monkey D. Luffy. Please meet with his moogle, Pakku, at the pier. He will be wearing a bright red bandana around his head. The Chasing Joy is easy to spot. Look for the large Behemeoth head at the bow of the ship.

So I've noticed throughout the past week, ghosts have been popping up more often. There are some though that are are admittedly obnoxious or harmful and dangerous, and yet we can't judge all of them-- Many were people once, don't want to hurt anyone, and need help. Plenty the kind who had regrets and can't move on to rest in peace; but it doesn't have to be that way.

The thing is, we're able, as people who are still alive, to assist in reaching that peace. It's not always an easy task. Some have been content with having someone listen to them, and others have more detailed requests I've had to leave off and wonder about how to go about accomplishing.

But I'd like to ask the other Heroes to once again, as they're inclined, to take that word in our fancy titles and put it to work. There's only so much one person can do, so I'm asking.

You can check out the quest board if you have the time and are interested, I've listed some that I'm not currently working on. I can't offer a solid award in mind (and I think priorities here would be a bit... misplaced given the context) but they themselves are fairly likely to have something to offer you.

Okay!

So I've been in Aqures Ixen for a few weeks now and I've seen my first ever Fire Crystal. We don't have them where we're from so it's a new thing for me... Well... I guess a lot of things in Aqures Ixen are new for me.

Frankie is new to me as well but he's my pal and if anybody gives him any trouble or picks on him in any way, you'll be hearing from me. If you have an extra one lying around, give him a kupo nut and a kind word, that's all I ask.

So I'm a Red Mage by trade in this world and... I'm actually looking for a specific weapon type or I have to find someone who can teach me how to use a sword.

So... nunchaku or swords.

Or... directions to a weapon shop because the makeshift set I made while locked up in that research facility kinda bit the big one.

Overall, if you've encountered this message, congratulations on encountering Frankie, faithful friend of Selphie.

PS: Bonus points if there happens to be a train or two in this world because they are way more awesome than airships.
