Hey,

I've been checking out the area around the Crystal of Fire and in the hospital.  I didn't see any of the people who showed up in crystal stasis at the beginning of the month.  I'm not really sure what it means.  I have some guesses, but I don't want to make them out loud before I know more.  But there's nothing to worry about right now... I think.

[At some point during the day, Chiaki can be seen walking out of the area set aside for professional Triple Triad games in Aqures Ixen, carrying a large bag with the letter 'G' written on the side.  The very familiar jingle-jangle of a big stack of fat loot can be heard coming from within.]

I was under the impression that they were people who had been lost to us. Perhaps created from memories, that the crystal thought would motivate us.

Are you stating that actual people appeared in that state as well?

The person I saw was dead too. But they weren't all like that. Jack saw someone who he knew to be alive.

They started to vanish not long after they showed up. Saw it happen to one with my own eyes. Makes what happened make even less sense.

Close as I can get is that someone did this on purpose to mess with us. Maybe they weren't real.

I was around the Crystal of Fire the entire time, and they started to vanish. One even vanished while Hamuzou was on top of it! That's why they weren't at the hospital.

Right, but where did they go after that? And why did they appear here in the first place?

[Terra had been out with Tempest, the little moogle was determined to get her more comfortable with this world and interacting with others. Her voice is its usual soft and gentle tone though there is more strength behind it compared to when she first arrived.]

Huh?

[Chiaki turns to look at Terra, tilting her head slightly.]

Oh. I'm just coming back from a tournament.

[Terra glances at Tempest for a moment before looking back at Chiaki]

Tournament?

Yeah. It's a card game called Triple Triad. I compete professionally.

[her_rose_is_red]

[Looks from the bags of money to Chiaki and back a few times. She thought sacks of cash like that only existed in cartoons. And usually only in one context....]

Did you rob a bank?

Huh?

[Chiaki isn't familiar with cartoons, or that trope, so she is well and truly perplexed at that question.]

No, why?

Because that's where people get big sacks of money in cartoons. They rob banks.

I've never seen those sorts of programs.

The lovely blonde had more-or-less followed Chiaki, and made no effort to hide that she was... It's kind of hard when you have 14 feet of hair trailing you, but, she has little to do on her own, and decided that Chiaki's day would be more interesting than her own.

Of course, she doesn't approach her properly until she's hanging out, loafing about her huge satchel of "G". "Oh my, how rich you've become. All from playing a game?", she says, giving a playful pat on the girl's shoulder... more like a tap as if playing tag with her.

[By this point, Chiaki is slowly getting used to the small playful physical gestures from Val, and appreciates that she's kept it slow on that front with respect to her own strange issues. She offers a small smile to her housemate, nodding at her question.]

Yup. The cash prizes for competing professionally are pretty good if you can manage to win consistently.

"Isn't it dangers to go about flaunting such a large bag of loot. There are thieves about. And as I understand, a whole 'job' dedicated to it." As such she's making active grabby-hands for the bag, in a rather wiggley-fingered, lecherous manner. Not unlike fondling.

But there's too much of it to carry in my pockets.

[Chiaki slowly moves the bag out of the way.]

They're all gone? Is there someplace else they might have been moved to? Or is it possible they were destroyed? What would happen to the person in that case?

I think they probably ended up wherever they came from originally.

One can only hope. This is all strange enough to me as it is. From what I've been told it's possible that any of us can fall into crystal stasis at any time and without warning.

It's not something I like looming over my head. Especially as we know so little about it.
