Hey,

I've been checking out the area around the Crystal of Fire and in the hospital.  I didn't see any of the people who showed up in crystal stasis at the beginning of the month.  I'm not really sure what it means.  I have some guesses, but I don't want to make them out loud before I know more.  But there's nothing to worry about right now... I think.

[At some point during the day, Chiaki can be seen walking out of the area set aside for professional Triple Triad games in Aqures Ixen, carrying a large bag with the letter 'G' written on the side.  The very familiar jingle-jangle of a big stack of fat loot can be heard coming from within.]

"Yet it was temporary. Was the person Jack saw the one who set him on his current path? I do not know this Jack so really can only guess."

You think that's what they all had in common? They were all significant people who shaped our lives and motivations?

"It is possible. I met another who's code was based around the person they saw, and it is a subtle way of motivation, is it not?"

[She's not entirely comfortable with the implications of applying that logic to herself, but it's not entirely wrong in her case either.]

"In all honesty though, I haven't thought on it much. Sometimes an omen is just a loose telling or something to get someone's notice. Not all of them tell of the end times or great battles."

Anyway, I'm more worried about why they all appeared in crystal stasis, and why they disappeared after such a short time here.

"Perhaps the crystal only could pull an image of them, as opposed to the whole soul. In doing so it used its own form to give them body, but with nothing to guide the husk, ultimately it vanished?"

Maybe. But doesn't that mean there's something wrong with the crystal that wasn't a problem when it brought the rest of us here?

"Or perhaps it simply was trying to do too much. I do not myself know much about the crystal, perhaps it was trying to flex its magical muscles. Still, if there is someone who does know, they may be the best to ask."

I don't know of anyone who's an expert on it. But it's worth looking into. This world powers almost everything on crystals. If there's a problem, it could get out of control really fast.

"That is true. Perhaps someone should begin to look into alternative fuel sources as well."
