Hey,

I've been checking out the area around the Crystal of Fire and in the hospital.  I didn't see any of the people who showed up in crystal stasis at the beginning of the month.  I'm not really sure what it means.  I have some guesses, but I don't want to make them out loud before I know more.  But there's nothing to worry about right now... I think.

[At some point during the day, Chiaki can be seen walking out of the area set aside for professional Triple Triad games in Aqures Ixen, carrying a large bag with the letter 'G' written on the side.  The very familiar jingle-jangle of a big stack of fat loot can be heard coming from within.]

Huh? Okay...

[It's not like Chiaki is particularly hard to drag along for things, so she complies without argument so much as vague confusion. She doesn't really understand why playing games a lot is unhealthy. And Triple Triad regularly takes her outside the house and gets her socializing with lots of other people. But she doesn't mind hanging out with Val either, so this is fine.]

However, Val storms off with her without a proper plan, and after a while her charge slows down while she ponders and looks about.

"Hmm... You know... it wouldn't hurt to put some of this money back in the community. Did you say once you'd buy me an outfit?" she grins, bending down closer to Chiaki's level.

[She looks thoughtful about that one for a moment, trying to remember.]

Probably.

[Hey, it's not a 'no.']

"You've forgotten already?" she huffs. "Well, I think you could do with some cuter clothes anyway. These job outfits are stuffy and boring." Says the woman who's used to wearing little more than a metal bikini.

I could wear what I used to wear in my world if you think that would look better.

[aero_dienamic]

"And just what kind of outfit is that?" As such, Val is already 'dragging' Chiaki off to a clothier. She would certainly love to see this!

Hold on a sec.

[Chiaki pulls her crystal out from her robes, concentrating for a moment. There's a brief flash, and now she's wearing her clothing from her original world.]

They look like this.

"Oh my! Just how did you do that?" You seem to have furthered her interest as she circles Chiaki, looking her outfit over.

"I think I've seen something close to this." she hums.

The crystals store our outfits from home as well as the ones associated with our jobs. This is the one I wore in my world.

[She tilts her head.]

Do you like this one better?

"Oh yes! Quite a bit! But how did you do that? You just... changed clothes!" she gasps, simply delighted at whatever magic she used.

"If you can just change your clothes like that, why, you could wear anything! Or nothing!"

Everyone can do that. It's a function of our crystals, like I said. Mogomi told me how it works, but it only stores one outfit from home. This is the only one I ever really wore there anyway.

She just pouts.

"Well... I wasn't told THAT much. I hears that my other outfit would be even more covering than this." she tugs at her unfortunate robes of a black mage.

"Well, I'll have to give it a try! How do I do it?"

Take out your crystal, close your eyes, and concentrate on whatever clothes you were wearing before you woke up here.

"Is that all? That simple?" And why didn't her Moogle tell her this? Little thing will get a scolding later.


With her crystal, she closes her eyes and ponders, and in a flash she's wearing a simple metal bikini. At least it's not as cold as it was when she arrived, but there is is in 95% of her glory.

"Oh my this feels much better!"

Is that more comfortable than a robe?

"For me, yes. It might be colder, but this is what I'm used to. Feeling the wind all over me rather than just, some." she stretches her arms and raises on the tips of her toes.

"It's still strange actually feeling the cold but... That's just the way things have to be now..."

[Chiaki nods, tilting her head as she glances down at Valvalis' bare feet for a moment and back to her face.]

I think I can understand a little.

At her feet... curious girl~

"Oh? You mean the comfort of something from back home? I don't mind the cloak from the other outfits, but... the rest... it's just a little too much. It gets itchy."

[They've got to be freezing, walking on the cold ground like that.]

Mm... something like that.

[It's not entirely what she meant, but that's a secret Chiaki isn't willing to share just yet.]

She hasn't taken any steps yet, but Chiaki is super-right, so after a few thoughts, she's returned to her black mage attire, much to her dislike.

"Well, at least when the weather is warmer, I can enjoy my clothing again." she says quite happily.
