To Those Not of This World, the Heroes of Light:

It goes without saying that there is much to be done with the condition of the city. I know that Miss Zelda has been offering shelter to those who need it, and I would be amiss to not offer my own support alongside her.

To any and all able bodied women and men, I am going to try and retrieve as much lumber as Gil and my wagon can afford. I would be honored and thankful of any who would be willing to assist me in getting new homes built. Not just for us heroes, but to the citizens of this city who have so graciously allowed us to make our home here.

I'll be setting out within the day with a fresh pack of seed to replace what trees we take. We will need many supplies and tools, all of which I'm sure we can gather. I am also willing and able to help guide those who do not have prior knowledge of wood-work, so please do not let any apprehension or lack of knowledge sway you from helping.

I look forward to hearing from many of you soon. In the meantime, please remain safe.

Best regards,

Link, Knight of Skyloft

[She writes out all of the letters by hand and asks Kopula to send them out.]

Dear Heroes of Light,

I know things have been difficult lately. The Observatory is open and clean for those who need shelter or a place to stay. My first priority was to fix it up and I hope that it helps those who have lost homes.

I am planning to have a meeting at the Observatory in a weeks time. Please let me know if you'd like to assist in anyway or if there is a topic you wish to talk about. The observatory will always be here and it's doors are open for those who need it.

Should you need me I will be there as well.

Thank you,

Zelda

Greetings. Do any of you know anything about Ultima Weapon? If so, please come to my laboratory in the seventh district as soon as possible.

For everyone else-- I believe by now Biggs told you of the situation. It is true I believe you shouldn't leave Aqures Ixen. It is because I think there is something you can do to cripple the imperial armies, and it is related to my question. Biggs will have a meeting to discuss strategy soon.

However, if you are afraid to stand against the empire or believe it wiser for you to leave the city, please do so. I believe Wedge has already organized a schedule for evacuation airships. Hotels in Trano Golsaucia and Flence should welcome you for free due to the emergency.

RE: Imperial Fleet

I've told a few of you that the Empire was preparing a fleet. We expected them to take their people somewhere safe, but that's not what they're doing. According to our Intel, they're gathering their armies to attack Aqures Ixen. Esdham has confirmed our information. At the current rate, they should attack sometimes during July.

We're going to start evacuating the civilians to Trano and Flence once the World Cup over. I would tell you to leave as well, but Jessie says you should stay. Dunno what's on her mind, but odds are you're half the reason the Empire wants to attack us. Keep quiet about this, we don't want panic to take over the streets.

Those in the Law Enforcement, contact me if you'd like to help. Those who want to help but are neither in this nor the army, I think Jessie will contact you at some point.

Everyone,

Has anyone seen Sophie?
She hasn't come home yet, and I'm starting to get a little worried.
It's not really like her to wander off this late without telling somebody.

So, if you could, let me know when you see her.
I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Asbel Lhant

[[OOC: Sophie has entered crystal stasis. Let me know if you'd like to be the one to find her, or if you'd like to action it out.]]

Good Day,

As a request to the Heroes Guild I've taken charge of looking at the clear crystals.

All of those who have clear crystals and would like to lend a hand please let me know. I will instruct on time and place at a later date. This shouldn't impede any current activities and I know that many are busy so it might be a slow process.

If there are any questions please let me know.

Thank you,

[For those that know of Sephiroth's penchant for sending Mognet mail directly via Spencer and not via the duplication systems in place at Mognet Central will be surprised to note that this letter will come through in the morning in the usual way. Either Sephiroth has conveniently forgotten why, or this really is a message intended for all that might read it.]

This may come as something of a late announcement, I hope that you can accept my apologies for the silence.

I recently returned from Crystal Stasis, and it seems that a vision of my future has indeed already come to pass.

But, everything will be alright. I know that now.

~Sephiroth

[ooc: Sephiroth came out of stasis on 16th June and has spent the last two days in the hospital, at his own request - to 're-adjust'. Partly at Spencer's suggestion, but mostly to give himself the time to remember...and to process. (Updated info post)

Will be followed by a open-log, tomorrow.]

[ The following is delivered by Taiga, who wrote everything but Sophie's name in the enclosed letter - since she didn't know how to write properly. ]

To the Heroes of Light

'Hello everyone. I wanted to thank everyone who helped me, and say hello to the ones I didn't meet. Tiger Festival said that this was the best way to reach everyone. He's writing this for me. I'm happy, because I met someone here who knows me, even though I don't really remember him. I hope that my memories will return soon, so I can share the same experiences with him. His name is Asbel. Asbel Lhant, and his moogle friend is Tern. You should be nice to them if you see them.

I wasn't able to introduce myself right when I met you all, but Asbel was able to tell me my name. It's Sophie! It's nice to meet all of you.'

[This message was delivered by Hari, Nanami's moogle, but it appears to be his own work. While he's mostly focusing on what he knows of people she is close to, he may also stop random heroes if he thinks they'll help. So feel free to reply: you can address things to Hari or Nanami herself]

Dear all:

I do not pretend to understand what it is to be a Hero of Light, but I must ask your help for one of your own. On the morning of the 17th, Miss Kiryuu awoke from what was obviously a nightmare, one she would not speak to me directly. I can infer its subject matter was the Calamity, based entirely on the questions she asked. I cannot say if she has spoken to any of you on the matter. As of the 23rd, she boarded the airship to Trano Golsaucia. She should be arriving today.

While I may speak to her myself, I feel her fellow Heroes may be best equipped to handle this. While the next airship does not leave for a few days, I would gladly carry your letters to her.

Yours sincerely,

Hari

[ This letter comes in a purple envelope, sealed with the crest of the royal family of Aqures Ixen. Even though every Hero receives it, it seems each letter is unique and wasn't sent at once to everyone. ]

Greetings, the name's Cid and I used to run most of this kingdom and the Magitek Research Facility years ago. To all of those who helped me last month, you have my thanks (even though you didn't really come for me, I just got lucky to be in your path and then you needed my ship to flee anyway). More importantly, you are a bunch of complete idiots. There's nothing wrong with that, the vast majority of this world is made of idiots, but don't confuse stupidity for bravery. What you did was the former and not the later. If you want to save the world, you'll need a healthy mixture of both.

With that out of the way, I know the Queen better than anyone and if she's said you're the Heroes of Light, that's proof enough for me. Wedge's told me about the little crystallization problem we're facing and it's my understanding you guys have no idea what to do. I'll be frank, if you're expecting Biggs and Wedge to give you any indications as to what to do, we're all doomed. What I'm saying is that once you're done reading this letter, you should get off your asses and start thinking about what to do. And if you've already tried, obviously you're doing something wrong so try again.

This doesn't mean we can't help. I've got an Airship here, the Enterprise and she can reach the Continent of Ruins. You'll need her more than I, so I'm giving you free use of the ship. If you're to save this world, you'll need an airship that can stand against Imperial Warships and take you where you need. The problem is that the ship was damaged during the escape and won't be able to fly again for at least a couple months, maybe more. That's where you come in. I've got engineers from Esdham working on the ship but that's not gonna be enough, at this rate we'll still be there next year.

If any of you have any knowledge or even otherworldly technology to share that would speed up the Enterprise's repair, of if you just want to work on repairing her, reply to that letter and lemme know.

– Cid of Roalie

[Action; Aqures Ixen - 13th District - April 17th]

[Chiaki stands in front of the statue of the Heroes of Light, staring up at it with a curiously blank expression on her face.  She's clearly deep in thought about something, as she eventually bows her head and lifts a clenched fist to place it over her heart.  Anyone passing by may hear her whisper something.]

Father... it took two thousand years, but someone got your message.  You didn't fail.  You didn't fail at all.

[Mognet Post - April 20th]

[A few days later, following Chiaki's trip to Trano Golsaucia to meet a certain doppelganger, she sends out a letter addressed to all of the Heroes of Light.  Each one is hand-copied and delivered personally by her moogle, Mogomi.  And while this means the letters are mostly written in pink crayon and adorned with little cutesy touches like the i's being dotted with tiny hearts, the letter is still intelligibly written.]

Everyone,

By now, some of you may have heard about the dream that some of us had on the night of the 16th.  I had one of those dreams, and the next morning, there was a letter waiting for me from Kalki.  I've filed a detailed report on exactly what I saw in my dream at the guild hall in the observatory, along with the contents of the letter, so anyone who's curious about that can read it there, since that's not what I want to talk about here.  This might be long, but please bear with me.

I'm assuming that Kalki sent the same letter to everyone who had the dream, and if that's true, she either had one herself - or more likely, she was the one responsible for sending us the dream somehow.  She was probably behind the last one too.  And if that's the case, then I know exactly what kind of villain she is.  Kalki knows a lot about this world, its magic, and its history - probably more than anyone else here.  Maybe even more than Jessie.  And because she knows so much, she's convinced that what she's doing is the best thing that can be done for Crystallis.  She's completely sure that her way is the best way to put a stop to the cycle of sorrow and death that this world is trapped in, and that the only way to bring about that outcome and ensure that everything goes according to plan is to stop us.  And if she can't stop us, she'll convince us too.  Make us see things her way.  That's why she keeps revealing information like this.  She's so self-assured that she thinks eventually, we'll come around to her way of thinking.

And I can't speak for anyone else but myself, but I don't agree with her way of thinking at all.  I feel like it's fundamentally flawed.  It's worse than simply killing all the Heroes of Light, or manipulating the crystals to control everything, or working together with Emperor Garland.  Kalki has hope for this world, but that hope has been twisted, and it's caused her to go about things in a way that might make everything even worse.  That's the kind of villain Kalki is.  It's not simply a matter of good and evil, black and white - she's holding onto her own hope, and she's doing what she feels to be right.  If we're going to fight her, we need to fight her on the field of ideals as well as on the field of battle.  The people of this world have hope too, after all, and as Heroes of Light, so should we.  It's important, now more than ever, that we work together for the future of this world - for the future of all of our worlds - and refuse to give into despair.  The truth is sometimes painful, and I imagine there will be even more uncomfortable revelations to come.  But no matter what information we discover, we need to face it head-on, with our eyes wide open, and look to the future.

I know you can do it.  I know we can do it.  Let's believe in this world, and in our power to change it.

I know that there are things going on, but I still want to ask something about something I found when the eggs were around.

I'm not quite sure what exactly to do with it, but my moogle said it's something called Orichalcum and that it's good for making unbreakable armour and weapons, but it's not something I can use myself I don't think. So I thought I would ask everyone here if they might want something like this, or if there is something I can do with it.

Thank you all for reading.

[It takes some time to get to everyone because it is sent by Kopula personally.]

Dear Heroes of Light,

You don't have to respond to this letter. I have been informed by Biggs, Jessie and Wedge that they will be able to meet with us in a few weeks time after going through the information they have. We will meet in the meeting room in the observatory and all are welcome to attend. I will have more information about the meeting as it approaches.

This matter does greatly concern us and I don't want it left to these three alone. We might be visitors to this world but for now we are living here and I want to protect that.

Thank you,

~Zelda

[This letter is passed along by Kopula. It might take a few days for it to reach everyone.]

Dear Heroes,

I’m glad to see what progress has been made on the observatory. I am happy to say that I have been able to clean a few room including a room that I set up as a meeting room as well as a large room that within the month should be furnished with beds should we need barracks of some sort.

The stables are well underway and almost completely constructed. I know there are a few large animals from people’s homes and they are welcome to use this space as well as chocobo knights to keep your birds close. There is only room for 10 at this moment but I’m hoping to can expand the space should we need it.

I will be tending to the animals kept there as well as keeping the gardens tended. Since its spring I’m going to start planting things around the building and making space for outside gatherings. I have been trying to head up the project of putting the observatory back together. There are more rooms in the basement that have also fallen into disrepair. If there are any suggestions as to what the heroes would like in these rooms please let me know, also any help would be appreciated. I am always at the observatory and will be happy to meet with anyone.

Also those willing to help with these rebuild efforts. I have some money I’ve been using to buy things for the rooms but it won’t be enough for the whole building. If anyone if able to lend a hand or do odd jobs to help us raise funds it will be helpful. I’m also going to ask the city if there is anything we can do as a hole to procure funds for the restoration.

If you have any questions please let me know! I can’t wait to hear from you all!

~Zelda
