Hi everyone,
I know a lot has been happening lately, but there's one side quest that we haven't been making a lot of progress on lately: getting the Monster Arena up and running again. It's really important to the old man who runs it, and the reward for capturing one of every monster for him is the Dancer Job. It might seem frivolous when we have the Calamity's advance to worry about, but we can use all the help we can get, and I think ignoring the potential to unlock a new Job isn't wise. The old man already pays out rewards for capturing new monsters, but as an incentive, I'm going to offer an extra monetary reward out of my own pocket for every new monster that people bring in. Here's a list of what he still needs, broken down by area and including duplicates for monsters that appear in more than one place:
Aqures Tosf - Black Elemental, Tonberry, Zombie
Desert of Roalie - Chimera, Skeleton
Old Hera Island - Chimera, Ettin Snake
Continent of Balance (Night) - Gargoyle
Aerilon - Medusa, Wyvern
Balicea - Medusa
Nabilan Mountains - Tonberry
Calm Plains - Wyvern
Region of Hera - Yellow Elemental
I'm prepared to offer the following amounts for the first capture of any monster on this list: 4000 gil for a Black Elemental, a Yellow Elemental, or a Skeleton; 5000 gil for a Zombie or a Gargoyle; 7000 gil for a Medusa; 8000 gil for a Chimera, an Ettin Snake, or a Tonberry; and 10,000 gil for a Wyvern. Contact me once you've turned in the monster to the arena and I'll send Mogomi out with a letter containing the appropriate payment. If we all work together, we can complete this quest, and we'll have one more weapon at our disposal to help save this world.
-Chiaki Nanami
((OOC: For anyone not familiar with this side quest or how it works, here are some helpful links: Monster Arena and Bestiary. Anything up to and including the five-star level of monsters can probably be safely handwaved if you have at least a few people hunting them or if you're a high level solo character. Higher star monsters will need to be logged out. And captures don't count unless they're posted on the Monster Arena page.))
