Letter and a Package?!
[This letter is sent along with a small package on Tuesday evening. What's inside? A Santa hat and a couple of bells, a sprig of pine, and a bundle of mistletoe.]
Season's Greetings!
I am writing to you from the Santa Village. Yuki and I boarded an ocean ship this morning so we could get a look at the village for ourselves. Work has only just begun, so I regret that there isn't much here at the moment, but there is certainly a great deal of promise. I'm certain your Moogle companions have already told you of what they hope the place becomes and how we can help. I would encourage you to do so. Even if there is much work to be completed, the village has an aura of peace and good will. I would like to ask those in charge if we might use it, and expand upon it, as a place of refuge should we be able to evacuate those who are currently threatened by the expansion of the Calamity. I do not know if my suggestion will be taken under consideration, but this is my hope.
In the meantime, I believe I will transfer my belongings here for the month and stay at the inn, possibly a house if I am able as I would like access to a kitchen. As I will be assisting with appearances as 'Mrs. Clause,' I believe the role would be greatly strengthened if I were able to bake seasonal cookies and treats. If you have any recipes, please send them to me. I would be exceptionally grateful, and the sooner I can practice, the quicker I can produce satisfactory results.
Please consider doing what you are able for this cause as well. Knowing what's coming, I believe that spreading joy and peace to the denizens of this world will help to strengthen and unite them. I hope to see you here soon, even if only for a couple of days. Whatever you can contribute would be greatly welcomed.
Sincerely,
~Rukia Kuchiki (Temporary Mrs. Clause)

Thank you, that's an excellent notion. The Moogles are quite eager for visitors, so if you're able to spread the word to those two cities, it should provide a boost in tourism at the village.
I am still unsure what to think about the Calamity. Would that we knew what causes it to move, and what causes it to cease. I worry about those who dwell too near to its presence, and hope we will be able to prevent any harm from coming to them.
I've heard there are chocobo races to be held soon as well. I plan to enter with Yuki. What about yourself?

Way to ruin Christmas Cheer
Definitely, and the more people visiting the Christmas Village the happier everyone will be.
I'm worried about the people in the Empire too. I just wish we had a way to prove to them that we just want to help. We don't need to be enemies but they're convinced we are. At least that's how it seems.
Zack...he's been sick lately. We're doing what we can for him at the ranch but...all I can do is wait.

Maybe he celebrates Kwanzaa
I understand. It is often difficult to change one's mind when they've been taught for years that they should behave a certain way, or believe certain things. Words alone mean little to such people. I can only hope that we have an opportunity to use our actions as a means of persuasion.
It grieves me to hear about your chocobo. He's a strong bird and cares about you deeply, so I do not think he will succumb easily to what ails him. I will hope for the best.
Is there anything I may do for you? Do you think it might help if I brought Yuki to visit him? Make any request you wish of me, I will see that your needs are met.

Re: Maybe he celebrates Kwanzaa
That reminds me of someone I know actually. I think he's so used to how things were at home he doesn't know how to be happy here. Or he won't let himself be. I just hope we can help him find his happiness.
I'm sure Zack will be fine but there was a race coming up that I think he was looking forward to. It's a shame but he needs to get his rest.
It...may be a good idea to wait until he's better before he sees Yuki again. I don't want him getting to excited.
For everything else, just keep encouraging people to go to the Christmas Village and help out. That will be a big enough help right now.
Ho Ho Ho,

As you wish. What is the name of your friend? Do I know him?
[She probably does.]
My apologies for the shortness of this note. I wish there were more I could offer to you. Will you still participate in the race? Yuki is enrolled. I am not sure how I will fare against racers more seasoned than I; I've been told that my size and weight may prove advantageous, but riding is still new to me.
Your Friend,

Oh...well, it's Sephiroth, but please don't tell him I said anything. I'm just worried he's too wrapped up in our futures back home that he's not trying to live for himself here. I think he's too focused on what he doesn't have here that he doesn't see what he does.
Or maybe I'm just being too nosy.
I'll still be in the race. I'll just have to borrow a bird from the ranch or something. I feel bad leaving Zack at the stables but he needs the time to heal.

I understand your concerns for your friend. But I am not certain I can agree with those sentiments either. He may be reluctant to grow attached to a world he must eventually leave, particularly if he must return to an unpleasant situation. We do not know enough about what paths lie ahead of us once our work is done. Emotions are complicated things, particularly when they conflict with duty. It may be best simply to let him sort through his own emotions, rather than trying to guide how he feels. Support and understanding is the most we can hope to give. Even so, it is commendable that you worry for him, so I pray you do not take these words as condemnation.
Good luck to you at the races. I will be certain to cheer for your victory, even if we compete against one another.
