However it seems that this world is forcing me to start over in my own training as well. I'm used to working by myself, but if I need assistance I will be sure to let you know.

My moogle tells me that White Mage is some sort of healer? Magic being freely available and widely used is not something I'm used to.

Yeah, White Mage gets access to the best healing spells. It has low attack and defense values, though, so it's best paired with a stronger melee class, especially at low levels.

Apparently I've been given 'Gunner' so I suppose mine is better for attack than defense. I try to avoid getting into direct conflict when I can.

You're also one of the ones who just arrived, correct? I have to say you have a remarkable knowledge of how things work here. Have you been here before?

Magic being a real thing is going to take some getting used to. I've seen some odd things back where I come from but it's not the same.

It's not so bad once you learn the rules. Magic follows them too, just like everything else.

I've heard of ancient devices and treasures that bend the rules of the natural world to their will. That anyone could truly control such things is the part that's hard to believe.
