I only read some over Yuffie's shoulder but the moment she received Cid's letter she bolted off. I don't know towards where but if you have any idea please let me know...

Chocolate I can do. Is there berries as well?

[Because he was a big fan of berries.]

[Yuffie shrugs.]

I don't know. I'm sure they have strawberry.

[Strawberry is usually common.

She walks up to the counter and then procceeds to crouch in front of the display case.]

They look so yummy.

See. I mean I don't mind people looking at my file because I don't have much in the way of things I want hidden, but then there are reasons some people do keep secrets.

[It's why he hasn't looked at any yet.]

[Following Yuffie up to the food, he had to nod. Everything looked very good, and he felt his stomach rumble.] Two please, one for her and one for me. Chocolate and... well, I guess I'll be looking around a bit?

Okay, okay, okay.

Geeze. You've already made me feel like a jerk, no need to keep going.

[Yuffie lightly scratches the back of her head.]

This sort of sucks...

[Yuffie nods at the woman with a smile. Her excitement turns the late teen into a young girl again.]

I was never allowed to eat many sweets growing up.

[Of course that had been through the reconstruction of Wutai as a tourist location. There is a lot of things that Yuffie wasn't supposed to do then. Not that it really has stopped her.]

My favorite is matcha ice cream.

I hadn't eaten much growing up either.

Matcha? I don't think I've heard of that... [same goes with ice cream. It really wasn't a thing that was common back home.]

[Yuffie just nods her head as the man behind the counter handed over their cakes.]

It's a type of green tea.

Oh, I'm familiar with tea. Wait... oh! Green tea, yes, yes I am familiar with the substance. Although we use the teas for leatherworking back home.

[Eorzea life, it was weird.]

[Yuffie blinks.]

That's weird.

[She takes her cake and finds a small table in the bakery. It has two chairs though the table can barely it two plates. She sets her's down and begins to munch on chocolaty goodness.]

This is so good!

[Setting his down, he took a bite and made a pleased noise.] This is very good too! The cream is unlike anything I've tried before.

Sorry...Just thought I should say that's all.

[He tilted his head slightly before he went to look for his file. He just wanted to see how detailed it was. When he reached a certain one he paused briefly before looking over.]

Sort of sucks? Why?

That's not even half of the problem!

[It's out of his mouth before Sephiroth can even think, and a great deal angrier than he's generally used to speaking to anyone but given all of Yuffie's past attitude towards him enough has certainly already been well enough.

Immediately afterward, he tries to blank her and ignore the fact he just -near enough- yelled. Turning more definitively back to the monitor.]

...just leave. [Is almost sighed out, half-muttered while that familiar sense of anxiety begins to rise up inside of him again.]

[Drat. Caught. Play it cool, Nevada.]

Hey, you know all my dirty laundry. And more. Fair's fair.

[ While Yuffie was mumbling to herself, a certain dark haired anti-hero was hovering over her. When she did make that comment, it seemed like it was time for him to grab the file from her hand in a heart beat and there's a bit of a smirk on his face for her nosiness. ]

Yo Princess.

[ He replied, somehow catching her in the act. Well, that explained what Mooshoo meant. ]

That's highly classified you know?

[ Oh and Yuri wouldn't bring up what he found on her yet either since he took a peek himself. ]

As much as it made sense, and, at least Yuffie's side of it was super real, and logical... That doesn't mean MarKus can't try and make himself be the stubborn optimist.

Someone had to be. Sometimes... it's best to not grow up, for the sake of everyone else... don't be the adult.

"Haven't we talked about fighting destiny though. Just because these files say something... it's like... assuming we weren't pulled OUT our own worlds." He felt like he might start repeating himself. But he was hurt and trying to fight it off.

"And even besides that... why can't we be happy now? Who knows how long we will or won't be here... Why... why give up something just because of what might be, instead of what you know you can do RIGHT now!" He voice was slowly raising, if only to make his point that he, in fact, cared about her, and took her companionship, their relationship to heart.

[ For a moment, Sheena feels a pang of jealousy. Yuffie might not have read that part about her being abandoned... ]

No. It isn't. Grandpa doesn't have a wife, so his vice-chief is Tiga. But then again, there's no guarantee his wife would have been chosen to begin with. [ She probably would have. ]

Becoming the next chief wasn't exactly in the cards--even though I'm his daughter.

[ Yep. Grandpa is dad. ]

Suit yourself.

[He is about to head to a different terminal to make sure that his file is locked when what she says stops in his tracks. After a year of being forced to exist over and over again, never given the chance to end it like some toy repaired every time he broke. Always waking up in the same pod, unable to move for hours-

He shakes his head.]

... There is no future for me. [Not one he'd want to return to, at any rate.] Either those hero types find a way to save everyone, or everyone dies, and if they do manage to, I was dying anyway.

[Spoilers: that was all that was written in the final paragraph of his file.]

It hurt that he was trying so hard. She really wanted to believe him but Yuffie was terrified. She wasn't all that strong when it came to things like this.

"I thought about that to but... this is different. Just look at Sephiroth..." She quickly realized that it might not make sense. "I come from the furthest point from Gaia... the others don't remember things but they will happen." Her voice sounds like she's in pain, like she's wishing it wasn't true.

She didn't want to pull away but it hurt so much.

"I want to be happy forever..."

[Yuffie's expression shifts from confusion to shock.]

Wait, wait wait! What?! You can't be serious. You don't have to die! You can fight that, everyone can life if they want too!

[She doesn't want to believe her own file but it's easy to dismiss others.]

That's not fair.

[Yuffie's expression shifts to surprise as the information is pulled away from her. She looks up at Yuri with a pout.]

Boring and not interesting at all! Like I want to read it anyway!

[Of course she's interested, there are some juicy bits in there but she doesn't want him to know that. Instead the princess folds her arms over her chest and pouts.]

I was having fun.

[She turns away from the screen with a sigh.]

But now I'll feel bad if I read more.

[Yuffie's fingers curl into tight pale fists.]

You're such a butt! Just when I thought you weren't that jerk.

[She turns on her heel and walks briskly from the room. She doesn't see why his panties are constantly in a twist over things. He has the chance to learn what everyone has been keeping from him and he's not happy with that either. She can't understand the complications that might be going through his thoughts.]

[Yuffie just looks at her with a confused expression.]

Then take it. If you love that place, those people, show them. It might be hard but they'll see how much you care.

[This is something that Yuffie knows well. While she's stubborn, rambunctious and filled with a past of bade decisions, those in Wutai love her.]

How is that fair?!

Besides, what would you want to know?

[She doesn't think her life is all that interesting.]
