Hey, you know all my dirty laundry. And more. Fair's fair.

How is that fair?!

Besides, what would you want to know?

[She doesn't think her life is all that interesting.]

Uh, you read mine? And that whole book about me? How is this not fair.

[Oh, well, that he hadn't wondered. There really wasn't anything he wanted specifically to know, so he shrugs.]

Dunno what's in here, so I dunno what I woulda looked for anyway.

Fine then, read it.

[Yuffie crosses her arms and watches him. Her stare says more than anything she could say.]

Okay then. I will.

[Indignant, he turns back to her file, and reads on for a few moments. But he's starting to feel slightly guilty about it, especially with her right there. After a few more moments, he clears his throat pointedly, and sits back.]

Y'know... Our futures are in here. In respects to when we were on our home worlds, anyway. Did ya read yer own, or did you avoid it?

[Yuffie crosses her arms.]

I know my future. It's sort of already been decided for me.

[She'll lead Wutai, get married with someone she doesn't know who's chosen for her, and spend the rest of her life trying to take care of the country.]

You can read that too if you want.

[But she's gonna stare. She wants to see his reaction to everything.]

What, really? Where's the fun in that.

Thought maybe ya'd at least want a clue. Didn't wanna read mine. Barkeep kinda spoiled some of it already as it is.

[Though he was having a hard time believing it. Sparks closes out Yuffie's file, but doesn't lock it. He sets to work on his without looking it over. Something dawns on him though.]

... Ya didn't happen to read Sephiroth's, did ya.

[She certainly tried to read Sephiroth's but that isn't important.

Yuffie crosses her arms over her chest.]

Why would I? I'm from his future I already know what happens up to his death.

[Because she was there and helped cause it.]

Wait, what?

[Sparks turns to her, surprised.]

You are? So you know what happens. And what he does. Like, he snaps, burns down villages, kills lotsa innocent people? Something to do with some kinda energy experiments on for super soldiers 'r somethin' like that?

[Yuffie just stares at Sparks.]

Did you hear that from Tifa or Vincent cuz those are the only other two who know all that...

[She shakes her head. It doesn't really matter where he heard it from because he already knows.]

Well, yeah. He fought against Wutai also. He was a SOLDIER, who had Mako infused into them or some such thing like that. Mako = magic from the planet by the way.

[Yuffie might be sounding a little sarcastic because yes, she knew about all of this. For a very long time, no one has asked.]

Heard it from Barkeep, who heard it from Tifa. Barkeep's got his apron all in a twist over it, cuz Sephiroth's been pinging his trouble radar for ages now. Came to me with his evidence and wanted me to do somethin' about it. But from what I can tell, he's here from before he did any of that stuff. So it ain't like I can arrest a guy for somethin' he ain't done, on a world that ain't even this one.

[He shrugs. What can he do?]

Seph asked me to lock up his file without lookin' at it. I wasn't gonna, but considerin' all that, I thought maybe I oughta corroborate all this.

[Yuffie hums slightly.]

Weird but okay. I can tell you about Sephiroth. I can also tell you that he isn't the man who did all those things.

[She pushes her fists in her pockets and looks away.]

Not yet anyway.

That's what I figured. Which is why I can't exactly do anythin' about it. Still, Barkeep says he's actin' mighty suspicious. Asked him about that whole mako thing and just got a nasty chuckle as an answer. Reckon Barkeep's always lookin' to keep trouble outta anywhere he considers his place, but he's got a good eye for it, so I believe him if he thinks it's weird.

But, all I can do now is keep an eye on him. He ain't done anything here, 'least to my knowledge. You think he might be up to somethin'? Dangerous? Of needing an eye kept on him?

well Tifa's been keeping an eye on him and I honestly think that it's made it worse. The loser just needs friends to stop from going badshit insane and killing people so why not do that than watching him?

[Yuffie knows she'd feel weird is she was being watched. Not that she's defending Sephiroth! He's still a jerk.]

Also if you want to ask about Mako ask Vincent.

[Sparks gives her a flat look.]

Yer sayin' that we just need to be friends with him. Yeah okay.

Reckon he doesn't make it easy. 'Bout as sociable as a space grizzly, that guy.

I'm sure he's worse.

[Sephiroth is like hugging a cactus with amazingly untangled silver hair.]

Seriously though, you're just worrying about this now? I've always said he was a jerk and no one's believed me.

Ya never told me.

[Maybe she did and he didn't listen. That's entirely possible. But most likely she never bothered to. It's not like they have a lot of peaceful conversations.]

It still stands that there ain't much to be done about off-planet future crime, so... Still don't know what I can tell Barkeep about this. Reckon he thinks I'm gonna wave my hand and his Sephiroth problems'll disappear. Like I can hypnotize him into bein' a good little Hero. That'd be even creepier.

[She definitely, sort of, remembers telling him.]

You're weird, you know that? [Who thinks of these things.]

And there really isn't anything we can do. As it is, he can't kill anyone here for good.

Look who's talkin'.

And he can't kill any Heroes for good. There's nothin' saying he can't hurt any normal folks. That's the real concern here.

Then why not talk to him?

[Yuffie's amount of caring is slowly decreasing.]

Besides he moved in with some girl. [Hardly a trait of a killer though Yuffie doesn't care because it means she finally gets Tifa back.]

"Hey Sephiroth, I hear you got the potential to be a genocidal maniac, but how're ya feelin' today?" I'm sure that'll go over well.

Wait. With a girl? Like, a girlfriend girl? I guess that's a good sign. [But also concerning.] Is, uh, she aware of what he can be like?

[Yuffie shrugs.]

You're asking like I care.

[She just knows where he is and since she doesn't value personal space like others do, it means she's attempted to sneak into his new home. Let's just say Mooshoo caught her before she could land herself in trouble.]

Why not go figure it out? I'm sure you can knock on their door.

Yeah, yeah, fine. [He waves that comment off.] I'll deal with it. [He mutters something that's probably a "thanks."]

[Yuffie shrugs.]

Whatever. You have any more questions?

[Because if not she's leaving]

Nope. 'M good. Got some files to lock up now.

[And he gives her a look as if he's waiting for her to go, a staring contest that lasts for a few moments before he remembers that she already knows what's in his and Sephiroth's files.]

...Right.

[So he turns back to the computer and gets to that. With no more peeking of her file.]
