2nd Sparkle
Fellow Heroes,
I seem to have found a dark blue crystal inside a strange egg I found at the Old Weapon Shop. Apparently it can be infused into a weapon to imbue it with the water element. I highly doubt I am lucky enough to be the only one to find something like this. Did anyone else find something interesting?
Also, aside from inviting others to join me in my regular training routine, I'm available as a weapons teacher. I can teach swordplay techniques and offer sparring practice. If people with other skills would like to form a network to help train others who need help with said skill, I am willing to help facilitate that networking.

YO! YOU HAVE A CRYSTAL! That... just hang on to that! That's what the 'job' is for, because I'm training to put those to use when making weapons.
You just FOUND that shit? At the weapon SHOP? Why did I see that?

I was mildly surprised myself, but the old man there said the egg wasn't part of his inventory and it must have been put there for the holiday festivities.

It'll be after I've honed my craft. There's... some theories and such I need to work out. Hang onto it for now, and once I'm confident in doing this stuff flawlessly, I'll work you up something fancy.
(Or not fancy, depending on your tastes)
-MarKus

I'm patient. I can wait until you've gotten enough practice to hone your skill. Don't keep me waiting too long though.

I am the Lady Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca; I believe I saw you but briefly at the Observatory upon your arrival in the city. The Observatory is available for training - indeed, I've a small fenced-in area set up in the yard for just such a purpose. While we've yet to acquire training dummies and other such training tools, the space is there and ready to use. Do feel free to meet there with whosoever expresses interest.
As I am at the Observatory most days, do come and find me. I'll not turn down a sparring match or two.
Best,
Lady Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca

First, I'd like to ask how you'd like to be addressed. Your full name is quite a mouthful.
I talked to Zelda a bit at the party and mostly made sure to check up on some people. I will definitely make sure to take you up on the offer of both the space and the sparring matches.
Sincerely,
Olivier Armstrong

Lady Ashelia will do just fine; thank you for asking. I am looking forward to meeting you in person.
Best now and more anon,

I found 5 of them, but they're little ones. I was told they're "monster" crystals. Meaning they glow, as monsters get closer. It reminds me of a weapon in a tale I read back home. Mostly how the main character and his companions were wandering through the darkness in an old abandoned underground settlement of the dwarves. One of his other friends accidentally alerted potential enemies, and the main character was able to recognize the type because his sword glowed.
I'm willing to share what I have. I'm definitely keeping at least one, so I can put it in a weapon for myself once I'm better trained.
Sincerely,
Lydia

That is an interesting crystal. What are dwarves? Waiting until you are better trained before putting it in a weapon is a good idea, that way you won't feel it's wasted if you decided to get a better weapon once you are more comfortable with using one.

Olivier Armstrong

I found it in an egg that looked like a moon. It was in the Observatory with the big telescope. Did you know there are two moons here? How freaky is that? Lots of stars too, but I expected that, even if it was harder to see them in daytime. I have 5 of them, so I can afford to hold one back at least for myself, and possibly use one in the meantime.
Dwarves, in the story, were one of that world's races along with elves, humans, orcs, and beings that were like short humans called hobbits, among others. They generally preferred to dig underground and mine things, and were very small with long beards. They liked drinking. Dwarves aren't just limited to that story though, but found in various folklore around the world in my home. I included a sketch.
Sincerely,
Lydia
[OOC: There is indeed a sketch of a dwarf included.]

That seems like a good place to find an egg that looks like a moon. Two moons is a new concept to me, but I suppose there are places that have even more.
We don't have any race like drawves back home. Maybe the Drachmans comes close, they like to dig into the sides of mountains.
Sincerely,
Olivier

We don't actually have 'dwarves', at least not like that, so far as I know in the normal world (Earth) I live in every day. They're rumored to exist, but most people just treat them as figures in folklore and fairy stories.
Two moons is definitely a new concept to me, and I'm already used to a pretty unusual world, in the Neitherworld. That's where my best friend lives, and I visit a lot. It was a pretty neat sight though, and the observatory was interesting. I've mostly been trying to just learn what's around the city.
Sincerely,
Lydia

So they're just fiction. That makes more sense. Maybe they exist in different worlds like most people who have been brought here to be Heroes of Light.
It certainly would be interesting if that was true and people who have been here before left the tales of them back in their homes. We're all from places with different timelines and development. Maybe others from a different time in our worlds have been here, or other places. This has certainly given me something to think about.
Sincerely,
Olivier Armstrong

That's an interesting idea. People from our world coming here, and then bringing tales back home! I'm going to have to think about that. I also keep meaning to tell you more about the Neitherworld. Probably best to keep that for in person though, as there's a lot to tell. Maybe when I visit next when you're free?
Sincerely
Lydia

I'll be working afternoon to early evening for about a month, so anytime before or after would work.
Sincerely,
Olivier Armstrong

I might end up crashing on your couch then, depending as I'd be coming from school most likely. Where are you working?
Sincerely,
Lydia

I'll be helping someone out with something out on the plains just outside of town. And I don't think Daisy would mind you using our couch unless you plan to destroy it in your sleep.
Sincerely,
Olivier Armstrong

I'm not even sure HOW I'd destroy a couch on my own. Well, ok, no--I can think of several ways I could, but I certainly wouldn't. Not with my friends, and not unless the couch attacks me first.
Where are you going? I'll be helping MarKus for a bit, but I can't camp long as I wanna keep up with my school. So I'll be there a few days to help with food preparation, when he goes out of town for some work. Then I'll be commuting, and bringing food in.
Sincerely,
Lydia

It was just way to say be a good house guest and you are more than welcome to stay.
I will also be helping MarKus. He advertised needing a bodyguard, and I answered to keep myself busy for a bit.
Sincerely,
Olivier Armstrong

This one has also acquired a crystal in one's egg. It is suppose to be holy, though one is not sure about how useful it would be unless there are such things as demons or ghosts here.
--Kenshin

I'm sure there are things weak against the element they call holy here. If you'd like to meet, I do have some information about that.
~Olivier Armstrong

This one would be honored to meet with you. One has acquired a suitable weapon to replace one's broken sword through the blacksmith Markus. One will probably spend some time as a guard as well. Tell one when would be good, and one will see if we can meet.
--Kenshin
no subject
Do you mean time as a guard for Markus while he works on his project? If so, I will be helping him out as well. I can meet you out there at the end of your shift if that is what you mean. Otherwise, I do have the early morning free tomorrow.
~Olivier Armstrong
no subject
Yes. One will be making suitable food for travel in the morning, so meeting there might work best.
Kenshin

I'll be working early afternoon through the evening. What is your shift going to be?
~Olivier Armstrong

This oen will be working in the morning. One can meet with you before your shift starts, if you are able that is.
Kenshin

That will work for me. I'll see you around.

Dear Olivier,
I have found something as well though it was metal and I'm not sure how I should use it. I'm sure MarKus or Ales would be able to smith something for you if they haven't already contacted you.
I do know others who have created a network for sparing one of which is Link. I will try to get him to write though I know he's been busy with his practices among other things.
Finally I'd like to inform you that currently Mognet isn't safe. Someone is sending our letters to the Empire and while this information might not be key to their plans I think it would be wise to be mindful. Kopula delivered this for me though its harder for the moogles to do it to all the heroes themselves and it often takes longer.
If you ever wish to speak I will be at the observatory as always.
~Zelda

Thank you for that information. I will make sure Alexandria send the rest of my letter or I hand deliver them. I will make sure to come around the observatory every now and then.

I would be happy to see you.
Stay safe.

I haven't found anything about these eggs. I'm sorry but, I am interested in learning more swordplay. It was a skill that I was used to before waking up here and it was strange feeling clumsy with a sword. I have requested the job again and would be honored to have a skilled teacher.
If it isn't to much trouble.
From,
Terra Branford

I will be working with Markus for a short while, but I plan to schedule time to work with others outside of my shifts. I will keep you informed of times and dates. Do you have a good sword yet?
~Olivier Armstrong
no subject
I do not. I used to work with a thin short sword but I haven't found anything similar since arriving here.
I don't know where to find a blade.

Terra Branford

MarKus, the man I will be working for, he is a blacksmith in town. He has a shop called Haley's Anvil. You should check out getting a weapon from him. The Old Weapons Shop in the 11th district might have some short swords, but they might not be exactly what you're use to using.
Sincerely,
Olivier Armstrong

I will contact him.
Thank you.

What do we do with them? Do you know?
--Kaiji Ito

I have spoken to a blacksmith, and apparently they are incorporated into a weapon. Each different crystal does something different. The blacksmiths here are still learning how to perfect the art. You'll probably be happy you held on to it. Does it have a color to it?
~Olivier Armstrong
I'm taking a stab at this answer; he got Meteor
