[Selphie had felt the pain of Zelda's death and the people that could have explained it weren't handy or in a talking mood. Instead, the perky brunette is left to hear from word of mouth of the death of a Hero of Light and thought long and hard about what she could do to help. As Cuppa Kupo has fallen into her hands, this seemed like a logical step for her to take.]

To Everybody,

I... don't really know what to say right now. This doesn't feel right, or fair and I know it's gonna be hard for everyone involved.

That said, if anyone wants a safe place to sit and think for a bit, Cuppa Kupo is open to you. I learned that a cup of tea and a person who's willing to listen can help more than any other action. Please know that you don't have to suffer alone.

Anyone is welcome and you're not alone.

[Selphie's putting some of the clean dishes away when the door opens. She hastily puts the remaining plates on the shelf as she spins around with a cheerful smile on her face.]

Good evening! Welcome to Cuppa Kupo! What can I get for you today?

[Selphie's broken curfew every single night this week so she's used to be scolded by the officers patrolling the city.]

Uh, coffee I guess. I'm probably not going to bed any time soon anyway.

[Cloud looks around the shop, giving it a little nod of appreciation before finding a seat to slump in. His palm catches his cheek as he looks out the window, the state of the city and the Heroes all fresh on his mind.]

[Selphie nodded as she cast a worried look at the young man who'd entered her shop.]

The shop will be open as long as it needs to be. I'm waiting for someone anyway. I'll bring you some sugar and milk too. I have a friend who likes it black with a bit of sugar.

I'll be right back!

[Selphie tapped Cloud on the shoulder and smiled kindly.]

Don't brood too much, okay?

[Cloud cant help but smile at the pat and the encouraging words. He's been on a roller coaster for the past few months. Every time he feels like he's getting a handle on things, some other revelation or crisis throws him back off balance.

At least it was nice to know that there are people watching out for him like this.]

Thanks...it feels like a good time to do it though. I promise not to go overboard.

[Selphie knew Cloud's type a little better than he may believe. When she comes back to the table Cloud is sitting at, she'll be holding a tray in both hands. She's brought a milk and sugar serving set as well as a hot cup of coffee for Cloud to drink.]

I have a friend who broods a lot too so I know how to handle it. I'll be floating about the shop if you need to bounce ideas off someone though.

[She grinned sheepishly.] Whoops, I'm forgetting something important! I'm Selphie, by the way.

[Cloud glances at the tea before looking up at Selphie. He tries to thank her but her comment makes him shrink back in his chair a bit, suddenly feeling self conscious.]

Sorry. I've been brooding a lot lately, I guess. Every time I think we're going to catch a break something else...breaks. It's pretty frustrating.

[He gave the side of the cup a gentle poke, testing how hot it was.]

I'm Cloud.

[Selphie understands that feeling of frustration. She doesn't really mention it out loud very often but she appreciates that someone can say it.]

Well, we all need time to think, right?

[She nods sympathetically.]

I haven't really been around for very long so I don't really know everything that's happened but I know that this is something that I can do to help.

[She gives Cloud her sunniest smile. The past month has been difficult for everyone and Selphie feels like some kindness is in order.]

Nice to meet you!

[The sheer joy behind that smile takes him a little by surprise, considering all else going on, but he returns it in kind.]

Nice to meet you too. I used to get out and meet all the new Heroes but it's gotten harder over time.

Really, we've been involved in a lot, and there's the whole thing about how we can stop the Calamity and if we can at all. [He shrugs and takes a long breath before continuing.] I don't know what we can do, but I have faith in everyone else. And I'll do my best to help them out too. As long as we stick together I'm sure we'll come through.

[Which is why the current murders are so troubling. It feels like there's someone trying to break them apart.]

[Her customers have been talking about the murders non-stop for the past few days and Selphie's joyful act has been enough to counteract the negativity that has been invading the city. She had to do something or else it was going to get her down more than it already had.]

I don't think you could've met me the first go around but I appreciate the sentiment.

[Selphie eventually settles for sitting across from Cloud and propping her elbows on the table. With her chin in her hands, she looks at the blond curiously.]

Like... waking up on the other side of the planet and having to find your way home? But hey, there's lots of people working on solutions, right? I'm sure we'll find something that works eventually.

[A hint of sadness floods her eyes as her head tilts to the left.]

The murders aren't helping things though...

Yeah...I remember hearing about all of that. I'm sorry what happened to some of the others who were with you. And...thanks for watching over us while we were frozen in crystal. That's part of what happened before Palitutu showed up, right?

[He frowns at the look in her eyes. Maybe it's best to avoid this subject, but he doesn't feel like a pivot to the murders is much better.]

Yeah...probably not. Someone's trying to turn us against each other. Or Aqures Ixen against us.

[He pauses for a moment but then decides to press the point on his mind.]

I'm sorry to bring it up but you all were with someone we thought was an enemy too, at least for a while...what was Kalki like when you were with her?

[Selphie looks at Cloud with a genuinely baffled look. All the heroes had been turned to Crystal before? Selphie didn't know about any of this that was going on in that laboratory.]

Um... I woke up in a research facility with my friend Zell and some other friends that I've made here. I don't really have all of the details from before Palitutu showed up but I do know that we busted out of that research facility where one of the Crystals was being kept.

[The perky brunette sighs lightly.]

The one who forced me to wake up here. I don't think I ever met her face-to-face. Most of my interaction at that facility was with busting out of there with the others that were there. It's where I met Yuffie, Yuri and Flynn and some puffed up blowhard who was all talk and no game.

[Cloud blinks in surprise. The past year had been so hectic, and the whole thing about being sent back in time while Kalki had another group of Heroes protecting them and...He never considered she might have been part of the group that wound up in the research lab when Yuffie was captured.]

Oh....oh! [He shakes his head and rubs his forehead.]

Sorry...I got things confused. I'm really sorry. A lot of things have been happening and it's just getting harder and harder to keep track of who is on which side...I'm sorry. It's not right what she did to you or any of the others in that place.

[Cloud bites his lip and looks away. He missed out on that rescue after he got stuck in the middle of a military parade.]
