I've spoken to someone about the matter of us not receiving crystals upon our arrival as we were meant to. They informed me that we might not be Heroes of Light in that case. Or that we will have to search for our crystals in order to acquire them. We are our own to find them as they say there is nothing they can do.

Unfortunately I don't know where you'll find it. Chances are that if it's not in the city then getting it could be dangerous.

If the crystals are not found in the city at the end of the month, I intend to search the island where the Crystal of Fire used to dwell. Should anyone want, they're welcome to accompany me. Those who have jobs like your hero's will have the protection of a group.

I pray you have been settling in well in this new land. Concerning our missing crystals, I maintain we might be better off without them. Certainly we can aid this land with our own might, without having to rely on any powers from crystalline sources.

However, if you or any of our fellow arrivals wish to search for their crystals, I am glad to offer whatever assistance I can in the endeavor.

I've found my sister and her fiancee so I'm as settled as one can be. As for the crystals, it's my understanding that without them we will not be able to change between jobs. We'll be stuck with the one we came in with.

I intend to search for mine with my family, if you wish to search for yours then you're welcome to come along.

I suppose there is little harm in locating the missing crystals, whether or not I seek to use mine. That will assure it does not fall into someone else's hands, at the least.

If the area you plan to search is a dangerous one, I can offer my skill with a blade. I can be ready to depart whenever your party is ready.

That is also a possibility. I'm not sure what will happen if it falls into someone else's hand and they decide to destroy it.

First I will search the city. If that fails, I'll go to Aqures Tosf which I've learned used to hold the crystal of fire.

Are you suggesting a hunt? If so, where would we begin and to what end aside from the change in job? What have you discovered that the moogles have not revealed upon arrival?

I am. I intend to start at Aqures Tosf, where the Crystal of Fire was once placed. Even if it simply leads to just the job changing capability, would you truly leave a crystal that is supposed to be attached to you out there in the world where anyone could get their hands on it?

So then what? We find one and suddenly we're these heroes of light? I don't know about you, but sounds like more trouble than its worth to me.

Maybe it won't be worth the trouble of finding it to become a 'hero of light' but they do serve another purpose. These crystals allow us to change between jobs which we can learn different abilities for.

Personally, I don't have much trouble still doing things I did back home. I know there's talk about how people's powers are gone, but me? I can feel it getting stronger every day.

I think this whole 'crystals' things is just some wild goose chase. We should be concentrating on how to get home, instead.

I haven't heard anyone talk of being able to use their abilities from home. There are some that are similar to what I know.

What if finding the crystals is a clue that leads to us going home? Or what if it falls in someone else's hands and it's somehow connected to us?

I heard about that... Well... I don't think we're 'not heroes' for one... I've already save the world once from cosmic horrors and other stuff, so it's time to do it again. Step one is finding the Crystals.

So, how do we start Step One?

Everyone feels differently about the title we're supposed to hold. I haven't done anything to save my world yet but they still brought me here.

Search the city for your crystal. Go out to the wild lands to familiarize yourself with the job you do have and get stronger. If we haven't found them by the end of the month I plan to gather a group to search the place where the Crystal of Fire once was.

Sure, I'll go do my own thing for now. Doesn't seem like the Crystal matters that much anyway. I am who I am, hero or not by their standards.

Though I think my job here is 'fixing' not 'fighting', but whatever. If I find anything new, I'll pass it on.

I hate to say it, but this news doesn't surprise me. Either the locals we deal with know nothing, or are holding out on us. Too early to say, but I got my suspicions.

I say, if you don't need a crystal, you're probably better off. We don't know what ours are even for, though we were told it was connected to our job classes. Clearly that ain't the case, if you guys have jobs too. Or would you not be able to change them, like the locals here?

In this case I'd say it was a matter of them not cooperating with us. Whether it's because they believe we might not be Heroes of Light or for some other reason, I couldn't say.

As of yet I haven't been able to switch between jobs though I've tried. It's something I was able to do back in my world so it can't be a lack of experience. If these crystals are supposed to be connected to us, I would rather have it with me than in someone else's hands.

Most of the locals just think it's legend. But what folks like Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge? They're the ones I wonder about most.

That's the thing with these 'jobs' here. They kinda reset all your others skills. So something you might have been able to do at home, you can't do here now. I used to be one of the fastest shots on Mars, and now that I'm a Paladin and Warrior, I can't aim my pistols to save my life. Probably literally.

There are those who didn't receive crystals? That seems a bit odd. Am I to assume that you yourself haven't received one? If not, is there any way people might be able to help, or is it the sort of thing that people wish to do on their own?

As far as I know everyone who arrived recently didn't receive a crystal. I was one of them. If there are those who have their crystals that want to help, they can come along when I lead a search of Aqures Tosf once we've made sure that the crystals aren't in the city. Or they can come because they want to investigate.
