What! You said you wanted to close your file.

[She can play this out... she totally wasn't just reading it.

She feels the hairs on the back of her neck rise as goose bumps cover her skin.]

[It's not pride or embarrassment that has Ven looking so serious -- not even anger. He's not nearly as concerned about his (very few) secrets as he is certain facts that outsiders shouldn't know about.]

[Yuffie stumbles backward hitting her head against the console. Her palm tenderly rubs the injured spot looking up at Ven.]

Not that much. If I knew what you were asking about I could tell you!

The Keyblade -- the True Masters, the history of the World -- anything about that?

[Sorry, Yuffie, if he's much more intense than usual. At least he's not armed, if that helps.]

Maybe a little bit. Something about blades in funny shapes.

[Yuffie doesn’t want to say the ‘X’ blade because that might lead to awkwardness.]

Well. That does suggest a certain degree of ignorance, and Ven's trusting enough that he doesn't suspect that she would play that dumb to look innocent. That may be his downfall, one day.

[Her smile widens slightly, thinking that she’s gotten away with keeping what she read a secret. It isn’t anything she wants to repeat out loud anyway.]

[Only then does he realize how worked up he is -- even though his voice has stayed level, there's visible tension in his shoulders and he's pretty sure his expression isn't the friendliest it could be.

[Yuffie exhales as Ven back away. A hand moves over her heart to steady the frantic flutter that he caused. She hasn't been that freaked out in a while but reading his file before hand spooked her.]

I won't.

[She answers a little too quickly.]

I mean, I won't. Don't worry Ven. You are a cool dude... when you aren't being all scary.

Scary? [Ven blinks -- she might as well have just called him a girl.

Did he really come off that way...?]

Oh. Well -- thanks.

[He looks at the computer again. He's definitely curious about what all's in his file, but for now... best to get it locked and get rid of let Yuffie move on first. Once he's alone, he'll look back at it.]

So -- you said to just push this, right?

[Yuffie is waiting for a good moment to dash from the room. Once Ven closes his file she lets out a slow breath of relief.]

Well, I'll be off then...

[There is no reason for her to stick around.]
