Rising? What are you suppose to remember?

[She leans forward a little bit more.]

Rebirth. Our world cycles through Astral Eras and Umbral Eras.

Astral are years of prosperity and peace.

Umbrals follow disasters, Cataclysms which end prosperity.

We remember the Warriors of Light, who fought at Carteneau in order to defeat the Garleans and stop Operation Meteor. We remember the fallen, who died when Bahamut ravaged our lands. And now, we remember the rebirth, as the Warrior of Light and his friends saved Eorzea, and brought forth the Seventh Astral Era.

[She's gonna blink a few times and just stare.]

I think I got it.

So you had warriors of light too?

[That's weird.]

That's right. Every Era has its own Warriors of Light, wielding the job crystals passed down and rediscovered later in life.

White Mage, Warrior, Black Mage, all of it.

It sounds like the world needs to stop getting in trouble.

[Though Yuffie's noticing that Gaia isn't much better in that regard.]

It's been like this for several hundred years by now. It's kind of what we expect to happen in our lives.

[Already he was thinking that he should make it up to her, as he scrolled further to the Knights of the Round entry, where he and his companions defeated the 13 Knights in combat.]

Well you shouldn't just do what's expected. You should do what's right.

[That's how Yuffie's constantly lived her life. Though it's been difficult she's proud of who she is and what she fights for.

Her eyes skim over the next entry quickly.]

More fighting? Oh wow... you kicked ass.

I suppose you're right. I've been... having second thoughts about constantly being led around by my nose, blundering into trouble. It's usually for a good cause, but the pain sometimes isn't worth it...

[He nodded.] The knights of Ishgard, 12 plus their leader the Archbishop. I managed to defeat them with my friends.

So you just randomly run around fighting?

Why? I know why I fight. I mean... you have a reason right?

I do have a reason. The Knights 12 and their leader... well, they've been actively suppressing the people in the war against the dragons, feeding them lies. It's a long story but they were willing to try and oppress the common man in order to rule for a thousand years.

They... also killed, a very dear friend of mine. I couldn't let that pass.

[Yuffie is ready with a smart as remark when he gets to that last part. So he doesn't just go around trying to save countries or towns or whatever. Losing a friend is something that Yuffie can relate too.]

[She doesn't apologize often but she isn't sure what else to say.]

It's fine I just... He cared for me, took me in when I was in trouble...

The last thing he said to me. 'A smile suits you better'...

[He wiped his eyes a little.] Sorry. It's still a little raw.

Then you should smile.

[For Yuffie it's really that simple but then she's used to that sort of loss. It never really goes away.

She slips in front of Meteor which is a little awkward but she doesn't care. Her fingers pinch his cheeks pulling slightly so his lips are curled upward.]

See- Smile!

[derplander]

[Despite himself, he did smile at Yuffie's enthusiasm.] Thank you, Yuffie. I just... no, there's no just. I should smile, because he was my friend. And I loved him.

[She releases his cheeks and steps back with a smile.]

Exactly!

Not so hard is it.

[Yuffie glances back at the screen before looking up towards the door. She's done with snooping for the day.]

[derplander]

It isn't.

[He smiled as he closed his file. There was more enough to see. Besides, that last entry... Warrior of Darkness...]

I'm getting a bit peckish. I have some gil, care for a snack at the local vendor?

[Yuffie will never say no to free food.]

Hell yes! What cha thinking?

I think there's a cake shop isn't there? At least, hopefully. Lets go get some cake.

[Yuffie runs towards the door before looking back at Meteor.]

Come on

[derplander]

[And he's coming along. There's food at least, right?]

[Once outside Yuffie will grab Meteor's arm and pull him towards the cake store in question. Her footsteps rang with an excited step as they walked.]

I want chocolate.

[derplander]

Chocolate I can do. Is there berries as well?

[Because he was a big fan of berries.]

[Yuffie shrugs.]

I don't know. I'm sure they have strawberry.

[Strawberry is usually common.

She walks up to the counter and then procceeds to crouch in front of the display case.]

They look so yummy.

[derplander]

[Following Yuffie up to the food, he had to nod. Everything looked very good, and he felt his stomach rumble.] Two please, one for her and one for me. Chocolate and... well, I guess I'll be looking around a bit?

[Yuffie nods at the woman with a smile. Her excitement turns the late teen into a young girl again.]

I was never allowed to eat many sweets growing up.

[Of course that had been through the reconstruction of Wutai as a tourist location. There is a lot of things that Yuffie wasn't supposed to do then. Not that it really has stopped her.]

My favorite is matcha ice cream.
