I only read some over Yuffie's shoulder but the moment she received Cid's letter she bolted off. I don't know towards where but if you have any idea please let me know...

[She’s trying really hard to keep smiling. He’s sorta intimidating when he’s this intense.]

Maybe a little bit. Something about blades in funny shapes.

[Yuffie doesn’t want to say the ‘X’ blade because that might lead to awkwardness.]

Well. That does suggest a certain degree of ignorance, and Ven's trusting enough that he doesn't suspect that she would play that dumb to look innocent. ~~That may be his downfall, one day.~~

Still, to be sure--]

That's all? That's really all you saw?

Ah.. yeah.. sure.

[Her smile widens slightly, thinking that she’s gotten away with keeping what she read a secret. It isn’t anything she wants to repeat out loud anyway.]

You need to calm down.

[Only then does he realize how worked up he is -- even though his voice has stayed level, there's visible tension in his shoulders and he's pretty sure his expression isn't the friendliest it could be.

So Ven backs off a step, gathering his thoughts and exhaling heavily. Even if she did read something forbidden, it's not as though he can really do anything about it now.]

Right. Sorry. I'm not -- mad or anything. There's just...

[Forget it, he's probably made it pretty obvious that his file's not recommended for public viewing.]

Could you just -- not tell anyone what you saw, please? Whatever it was.

[Yuffie exhales as Ven back away. A hand moves over her heart to steady the frantic flutter that he caused. She hasn't been that freaked out in a while but reading his file before hand spooked her.]

I won't.

[She answers a little too quickly.]

I mean, I won't. Don't worry Ven. You are a cool dude... when you aren't being all scary.

[Sparks gives her a flat look.]

Yer sayin' that we just need to be friends with him. Yeah okay.

Reckon he doesn't make it easy. 'Bout as sociable as a space grizzly, that guy.

Ok!

[Now of course, she'd have to meet the guy if it's the first person Yuffie thought to mention.]

Of course, he does eventually move, to turn around, smiling still.

"Oh really? Then I'll have to have a talk with Mooshoo, won't I?" he smirks, though when she starts to stumble, he catches her; as if he'd let her just fall.

"But what I'm saying is... I don't even know where you live. You always come to meet me and... well... now it's a problem, isn't it?"

[Yuffie flicks to his file which has a picture of him included.]

He's cool.

I'm sure he's worse.

[Sephiroth is like hugging a cactus with amazingly untangled silver hair.]

Seriously though, you're just worrying about this now? I've always said he was a jerk and no one's believed me.

Yuffie just blinked. "You don't know where I live..."

She didn't think it was that hard to figure out. She looked up at him and quickly realized that their faces where very close. Her cheeks flushed brightly as she worked to straighten herself up.

"Well you should figure that out then."

Ya never told me.

[Maybe she did and he didn't listen. That's entirely possible. But most likely she never bothered to. It's not like they have a lot of peaceful conversations.]

It still stands that there ain't much to be done about off-planet future crime, so... Still don't know what I can tell Barkeep about this. Reckon he thinks I'm gonna wave my hand and his Sephiroth problems'll disappear. Like I can hypnotize him into bein' a good little Hero. That'd be even creepier.

[She definitely, sort of, remembers telling him.]

You're weird, you know that? [Who thinks of these things.]

And there really isn't anything we can do. As it is, he can't kill anyone here for good.

Look who's talkin'.

And he can't kill any Heroes for good. There's nothin' saying he can't hurt any normal folks. That's the real concern here.

[Ophelia made an amused exasperated trill in response to the whining, but she might've been smiling too.]

You wouldn't like being prodded about things you don't enjoy talking about either, kupo.

[Another pat of her paw, not taking the edge of her scarf back yet.]

I think if you make it clear it's important to you to know his involvement in your homeland, if there was any kupo, then he'll respond. You just have to be patient with him, as it might not be easy for him to speak about either kupo.

Because I already know what happens up to my point and I always assumed that's all that happens. If it isn't, I wil wait and find out later since there are some things I didn't want to think about anyway.

[Especially when it came to his partner.]

Scary? [Ven blinks -- she might as well have just called him a girl.

Did he really come off that way...?]

Oh. Well -- thanks.

[He looks at the computer again. He's definitely curious about what all's in his file, but for now... best to get it locked and ~~get rid of~~ let Yuffie move on first. Once he's alone, he'll look back at it.]

So -- you said to just push this, right?

[Yuffie drops her hands to the side with a tired sigh.]

I'm not...

[She pauses feeling a little awkward at her admission.]

I'm not good at being patient.

[Yuffie hums softly.]

Okay.

[With that she swiftly closes his file.]

Here, I'll let you lock it.

Yup!

[Yuffie is waiting for a good moment to dash from the room. Once Ven closes his file she lets out a slow breath of relief.]

Well, I'll be off then...

[There is no reason for her to stick around.]

Then why not talk to him?

[Yuffie's amount of caring is slowly decreasing.]

Besides he moved in with some girl. [Hardly a trait of a killer though Yuffie doesn't care because it means she finally gets Tifa back.]

[Ophelia, so to speak, said screw it--and leaned over to hug Yuffie.]

I know. And you both have been through a lot, even before coming here and us asking you to be Heroes kupo. But Mooshoo and I care about you both; we are grateful to BE your companions, and we want to help.

[Much more quietly, squeezing Yuffie for a moment then pulling back.]

I know Vincent knows you aren't too kupo. You're both trying to meet half-way.

[Yuffie blinks, very surprised at Ophelia's sudden hug. Her hand lightly pats the moogles head before looking down at her.]

Heh, yeah. You guys do ask a lot. [She grins.] Just kidding. Thanks Ophelia.

[She can't help but tease a little bit.]

I don't really know what Vincent is doing...

"Hey Sephiroth, I hear you got the potential to be a genocidal maniac, but how're ya feelin' today?" I'm sure that'll go over well.

Wait. With a girl? Like, a girlfriend girl? I guess that's a good sign. [But also concerning.] Is, uh, she aware of what he can be like?

I'm not locking it. As I said I have nothing to hide, I don't see the point.

[And that was how he felt. he had a feeling that wasn't going to change anytime soon.]
