Dear To those it may concern,

I am looking for employment now that I have been here for some time. I don't want to keep using Tempests kindness to help me support myself. I thought to join the military because it's what I know but after recent events I don't know if that's a good idea.

I've read through the listings and haven't found anything I would feel suited too. I was thinking of starting an animal shelter. Maybe a place for misplaced moogles as well? I don't know for sure but if anyone could assist me. It would be most helpful.

I had asked Jessie for a new job but she has requested that I study the armor that you obtained from your time in the Empire. I understand if this is a strange request but could you please let me look over it for 24 hours and study it? I guess that's okay. So long as nothing happens to it. Right now it's just sort of hanging around outside my house, sharing space with Mercury. He's none too happy about it. If you have any ideas where I could house that thing, it'd be a big help.

There's the Observatory, but it's still being renovated, and I'm not sure how much room they'd have for something like this anyway.

Any time in the later afternoons or evenings. Whenever I'm done my shift at the station.

At the moment I'm looking to employ someone who's versed with Fire magic. If you just so happen to know any, I'd be more than willing to trade services for a weapon.

If not, a good sword isn't too expensive. If you just need a regular sword, the shop sells them just fine (I supply them, after all). If it's something in a more unusual shape or design that feels better in your hand, then I'm the one to come see!

I can use fire magic. What is it that you would like me to do?

I was hoping to get a sword more like the one I had in my world. It was a little longer than a short sword and the blade curved up at it's end. It was also fairly thin.

Terra,

I can probably work on that while I'm out there. We can talk out the design and all that in person.

What I need is fire and water. Heating metal, keeping the flame burning bright, and on occasion, water magic to quench the blade. I can't move my whole setup off to a camp site, unfortunately, so it's the easiest thing to do to keep up my work while minimizing the things I need to relocate.

It's a long-term request, easily most of the month. I'm willing to compensate time for finances as well.

I hope that you are doing well.

You're not the first to have concerns over the safety within the military for a Hero now -and this isn't meant to persuade you either way- but I will say this: I find it no more dangerous in this occupation than I would in any other.

I too, enlisted looking for a similar routine to which I was used to. It has been a lot harder than I imagined it would but I think that's more to do with our altered states of being rather than the work itself.

All in all, it's your decision.

Thank you for replying to my letter.

I am doing well.

I appreciate your account of the military. I would like to help and knowing that a few heroes have joined has eased some worries that I had about joining the military. I didn't know if there were restrictions to heroes or things I should know. Tempest suggests something here where I would be safe but I think I would feel better being in a situation to help others.

I haven't decided yet but I'm thinking about it.

I know it's not really my business but I don't think you should join the army. You don't like fighting, right? Being a soldier wouldn't be any fun for you. The animal thing sounds good though. Let me know if you need any help with that.

And if you need money, the old guy at the monster arena pays pretty well for catching stuff. You could try that.

That's good to hear. I honestly don't know what I should catch first. I'm not sure what there is out there. Maybe we could choose something easy to start off with together? In the plans just outside the city?

I will see about the shelter and ask about money. I'm sure it's needed but maybe I can get some from the city or by working for free? I'm not sure how money works.

There's a whole bunch of stuff out there. And I know how to handle those frogs now, so you don't have to worry. We should just go out there and see what we can find! It'll be fun!

I'm no good with money either, but I also don't really need it. So whatever we catch, you can keep the bounty.

[He would seriously be fine with just sleeping in a field somewhere and living hand to mouth. That's how he's spent most of his life anyway.]
