Letter to All Heroes
To all,
There are many things about this world that still puzzle me, but it seems I have found something that does not make any sense since the moment I have woke up here:
Why must I fear chasing after hamsters?

You're going after a hamster?! I've heard that those are very difficult to fight. I don't think you should go alone if that is your goal.
Why are you chasing after hamsters?

There are mixed expressions of horror and amusement when I had asked about them from some of the natives. I am unsure but it would seem that they are more than formidable even for us.
I was asked to get some of their fur.

This world just gets better and better. First floating furballs they call moogles, then people were locked up for no reason and now you're saying there's a hamster chase?
This place sure got weird.

It would seem that they are some sort of fierce creature, one that even us 'Heroes' cannot defeat alone. She has even suggested that I gather a hunting party just for the task.

Boy they sure don't jest about this 'Heroes' stuff. A hunting party for a tiny little rodent thing? That hamster must be something.

I'm unsure why you might need their fur. I do know that Hibiki, one of the other heroes, has a pet hamster. I have heard that they are very difficult to fight should you need assistance please let me know.
You shouldn't go alone.

Those aren’t just any hamsters, man. Don’t you know? They’ve got some serious sharp teeth on them. Sharp enough to leave some serious carnage in their wake, I hear. Few have survived encounters with those things, and none have left unscathed.
Oh, and for the record? They go for the eyes first. Just so you know.
- Doug
[Who is actually trolling, and assuming Genesis is getting trolled too. As if "deadly hamsters" could actually exist.]

As someone who hunts monsters, presently, I can say that the "Hamsters" here are some sort of malicious mutation of what should be a cute, small creature that is normally a pet where I'm from.
I can't imagine unless you're a Beast Master or Blue Mage that you'd want to go after one at all. I feel like someone here... one of the Heroes, has a pet Hamster. A normal one, from their home.
You're not REALLY thinking of hunting one down, are you?

Thank you, I do believe that the natives have already told me thus and also informed me that the hamsters are also too hard to hit by normal methods and are immune to a lot of status damaging spells.
Have you faced one before?

Jessie gave me it as a task in order to have access to a Job. I'm uncertain if it is because of the matters we had not told her about, or because she truly needs these hairs, but it is a bit much I would think, to fight something strange.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

Well? Yeah, they're hamsters. Killer hamsters, even. Of course they're going to be a pain to take out, let alone chase down. Assuming they don't hunt you down first, I mean. They're persistent little things, if not relentless.
No thanks, I don't feel like chasing those things down. Best of luck to you, man. You'll need it. ... That, and fire. Lots of it. Even better: bring explosives. It's the only way to be sure, man.
- Doug

Something like that for a job? Either she doesn't want you to have it, or there's something ABOUT the job that's sketchy, or risky. One of those...
...crap I can't remember what the term is actually. A test I guess... To scare people off of it. If she didn't give you any more information then maybe... Geez I don't know. Maybe she's trying to trick you?
~Allenby

It was a task given to me by Jessie for a Job gain. I find it rather a strange request, especially since I have been reading a little on these hamsters.
I doubt anyone will want to come with me.
---Genesis

That they do not. It makes me wonder as to why they are even suggesting that I take a coffin with me for proper burial.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

How lucky for you. Do enjoy sitting back and laughing at our expense when we are brought back as crystals.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

I do not understand why she would think the job is risky. I was a SOLDIER back home and had felt that a Warrior would be something useful to augment my Scholar Job.
It makes me wonder if she was mad about not telling her precisely about the rescue operation.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

Well I have the white mage job completed so if you wish to have a healer with I would be happy to join you. Otherwise I might suggest getting Hibiki's hamster and see if that would do.
Please be safe.
~Zelda

... You seriously mean to say you think all that stuff about killer hamsters is true? Come on, man. There's just no way.
- Doug

As I understand they're pretty damn dangerous, and hard to find. But I don't think that sending you to hunt one is really fair if that's what she's punishing you for.
But... I'm a Beast Master myself. I'm not saying I'd be the super-best candidate, but if you need help, I'm willing.

Now they're just pulling your leg. Proper burial for a squirt you're suppose to subdue? Man, you sure got your hands full.
- Yuri Lowell.

I may first attempt to see if a few hairs from Hibiki's hamster will work since I an disinclined to have others suffer for my mistake.
If it is not what she is looking for, I may have to find some other means to get these hairs.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

No. The coffin is for me if I am gathering the information correctly. The hamsters they say are rather hard to kill, if not impossible.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

I do not believe it, nevertheless, it would seem that people native to this planet do. So I am going to take their word for it right now and see if there are alternatives.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

At this point, I feel inclined to try something first, but I may have to go hunting if this proves fruitless. I dislike the idea of these hamsters as being this useful, and I hope that this does not turn into a wild jabberwok hunt.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

Better hope they're not just pulling your leg. The idea sounds pretty out there. But on the off chance they're not, I guess that's just one more thing for us "heroes" to look out for. Death bringing hamsters.
Then again, it could be worse. What alternatives did you have in mind, anyway?
- Doug

Good luck and know you can call on me among others.
~Zelda

So you're assigned a death warrant to capture hamsters that are potentially immortal (maybe) and can kill you? Well, I can't say your life choices are good, now.
- Yuri Lowell

My thanks. If it does not work out, then I will talk to you later.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

That seems to be the case. I am guessing that I have stepped on too many feet again and this is going to be a fool's errand.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

I doubt it. It seems too genuine of a fear for it to be a mere joke.
To not get the Job or to attempt it with a hamster that is a pet of one of the heroes.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

Sounds like it.
I'm not the hero type, but if you're going to brave that on your own, maybe I should help you there.
- Yuri Lowell

The 'Hero-type' of my world is not exactly speaking with me, and if he was, I am sure he would tell me to dismiss what I have found and seek it out myself.
I shall let you know if I do decide on attempting a hamster hunt.
---Genesis Rhapsodos

Sounds complicated.
They're sure the enlightening type.
Keep me updated, and don't think we need anymore 'Heroes,' disappearing or whatever they do here.
- Yuri Lowell
