*PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL*
I sincerely hope that this letter finds you all securely. I took the liberty of strictly instructing my moogle to process each copy of this correspondence separately to achieve the highest level of data protection; I cannot afford for this, nor any replies to be seen by unintended eyes.
Now onto the subject of this irregular mail.
I've been given a task by Jessie, to conduct an observation into those of our number who remain in Crystal Stasis within the Aqures Ixen General Hospital. With the intention to locate and verify any tangible similarities that may link all of them together, with the hope no doubt, for her to conduct even further research into the nature of this affliction which, I am sure, is a pressing concern for everyone.
In order to do so, I need to gather whatever information possible about those Heroes that have fallen into Crystal Stasis and I would very much implore each of you to respond to me with whatever details you may know of any one of them - no matter how trivial it might seem.
As I understand it, privately addressed mail does not carry the same security risk as mail which is intended for a wider audience, but if you are concerned, and your own moogle companion is willing - you may instruct them to bypass the Mognet office with any replies and come directly to my abode at B-04, Aqures Ixen.
Yours sincerely,
Sephiroth
[ooc: This note has been distributed differently to how most mail over the Mognet gets sent. It's hand delivered by one of six, smaller girl-moogles with glasses - or by Spencer personally. Details here - Spencer has persuaded his sisters and a few younger cousins to assist him with the direct distribution of 50+ letters individually processed to each Hero of Light per Zelda's list of Heroes. As such there may be a delay in your character receiving their copy of this letter. Spencer then dutifully returns the original to Sephiroth. Call it micro-managing but he can't afford for this to fall into the wrong hands.
The moogles involved would most likely appreciate a Kupo nut for their hard work!]

Bad business, unpopular for sure, but sometimes dirty work does prove adequately efficient.
[He knows exactly how that works, given ShinRa.]It seems most of us brought here seem to have some sort of fit as a 'Hero' in one way or another. I suppose the question to ask is more 'why' in this regard; logically there has to be some mechanism for the Crystal here to select certain individuals from the vast populations of countless other realms.
Mind-blowing, don't you think?

Efficient, certainly, though more often than not with unforeseen consequences. But I digress.
Indeed, there seems to be a method to the selection of Heroes. All the same, a mechanism would imply reliance on predictable variables, whereas traits of heroism are situational and unquantifiable. If the Crystal is able to evaluate human traits and make decisions based on them, I would go as far as saying it must have an intelligence of its own. Perhaps not quite like human intelligence, but intelligence nonetheless.

Jade,
Personally I'm more concerned currently with the train of thought that theorizes the Crystal as a tool for drawing us in, as opposed to a sentient being or some extension of a higher consciousness. The more that I look into this task for Jessie, the more I do wonder if there is indeed a common thread that binds us all together in whatever the purpose is we've been brought here for.

If the Crystal is indeed a tool, that begs the question of who is using it. We know our worlds can be seen from our observatory under certain conditions, so the possibility that someone else has the means to spy on us and find Hero candidates isn't out of question.

It seems that is a fact of which I was unaware. Under what conditions, exactly?

During the dual full moon in January, the observatory began to function and allowed everyone using it to see their home planets. Why it only worked that night I cannot say, but it proves the technology to see other worlds exists on Crystallis.

Seems like it calls for a more in-depth look into the Astrology here, my thanks for the further information.
I don't suppose you'd know if any records of a previous dual-moon might have been discovered during the process of turning that building into a guild hall?

Not to my knowledge. You could try asking Zelda or Lady Ashelia, as I believe the two of them have taken charge of cleaning the observatory.
