A Time To Harvest [To all/To Cloud]
Who: All Heroes of Light
When: September 4
Urgent: Does anyone know the previous Heroes of Light Nebilim or Igor?
Less urgent: Since the city didn't get attacked this year, I have got a wonderful crop of watermelons freshly picked. I think last year's fire might have helped out this year's harvest? Isn't that some metaphor for our situation?
Anyway. I'll try to get them out to everybody, but anyone who wants one, come on by the house. At least give me some warning first, though. Half the moogles coming through here aren't here for me. It seems somebody held a little party while I was gone, it looks like half of Mognet was in my kitchen.
Somebody is also pretty grounded right now.

Cloud:
Interesting that, in the end, it was your suggestion that won the day. Palitutu is alive, comatose, and under guard. Gonna ask me again why people keep looking to you for leadership?
What are your plans next month?

Honestly, I was fine with letting her die after all she's done. I was willing to let her change her mind if she'd woken up, but I was fine with letting everything from our fight with her run its course.
I know there's a lot that can be said about how important life and forgiveness are but how many chances can you give someone? Even if she still knows something else about the Calamity or us and this world how can we even trust her at this point?
How far can a Hero go before they endanger everyone else with their decisions?

You don't have to trust someone to keep them alive and keep them close for resources. But that entire discussion was really all about what helps you sleep at night. Do you feel better without her blood on your hands? Or does the fear of what she might do keep you on edge?
But, if it makes you feel better, in my experience, the longer she stays out of the game, the less of a threat she'll become. The more her knowledge becomes outdated, the more she stays separated from what resources she had left, the less she'll be able to leverage anything. She thought she was about to die, so she gave us what she had left. And that was the real danger of her, the "I know something you don't know" game.
Well, that and the WEAPON. And we blew that up really nicely.

So it's definitely the fear of what she might do.
I just don't trust her to not have another ace up her sleeve, especially with Tear's vision.
As for your other question, I guess I can see why other people trust me to lead. I'm just not sure I agree with some of the reasons. I'm still thinking it all over, but we visited my home briefly. I met myself. The me that the others know. But like I said, I won't let down anyone who puts their trust in me if I can help it.
What about you? Did you visit your home?

Being a leader doesn't mean you're perfect, it just means that somebody trusts you. Or a lot of people trust you. So, I think you've got the right idea.
My world? Nah. Betting the potato wouldn't find anything useful on my world anyway. Certainly nothing there that would help the cause. You'd've sent me through, and I would have come back with a cartload of smokes, twenty pounds of coffee, and a stack of ramen bowls.

I guess I'm glad this is how it turned out. I just hope it was the right decision. Right now I'm more hoping we can catch a break and a rest.
So your world is one of the ones that has less in common that this one huh? Like no magic or anything? Do you have horses in your world?

How much? I think everyone could use a bit of a breather after last month.

No price, just come take them off my hands. Ib likes watermelons now, if we try to eat them all, she'll get sick of them.

How many have you got? What about a watermelon social? I know it doesn't sound like a good idea right now but it might be what some people need right now.

I'll veto having it at my house because my penguin is grounded for throwing a party while I was gone. (It must've been one hell of a party though. The mail moogles are suddenly very fast about picking up and delivering my mail.)
But, compromise. Pick a spot for a picnic while the weather is still nice. I'll bring the watermelons and the booze, other people can bring other stuff. The people that cope best by being around other people can have their outlet, while the people that are better off ignoring people can go off on their own.

Party makers in da hooouse tonight~ Every penguin just have a good time~
You have a pet penguin? And... it threw a party? (Now that's impressive!)
How about a cafe? You can bring brooze if you want but I think the watermelons are going to be way better. Besides, I'm still technically a minor. I like how you're thinking!

I know Professor Nebilim. I witnessed the end of the last cycle from her point of view.
Why do you ask?

Interesting that it's you. Those names were all that Ib could remember. I'm going after the other two Black Crystals. I realize you've probably got more important matters this month, but I really could use your assistance. You're the expert on Crystal science, after all.
At least, is there anything that you remember about what the heroes did to create these Crystals? And, do you have any idea what Nebilim's crystal looked like?

I'll do what I can to help. As long as those Crystals are out there, we'll be in constant danger.
I imagine what Ib saw was largely the same thing I did. It was the very end of the cycle and the final attempts at saving Crystallis were failing one by one. The Professor's group was one of the last ones left and they were getting desperate. Judging from their conversation at the Temple of Fire, they were debating over one last effort to give our cycle a chance, even though it meant sacrificing themselves and their worlds. Most of the group was against it and in the end, only the four of them were left to carry out the plan.
We never got to see the very end, but the Sage told us what happened. The four Heroes used their crystals to communicate with the Calamity. They lost their sanity in the process, but it got the Calamity's attention and resulted in the creation of the Avatars.
As for Professor Nebilim's crystal, it was shaped like a fonstone from my world. Unfortunately they look very much like the crystals here, so that doesn't really help in identifying it.

New growth out of ashes- there's an image for that, isn't there?
I'll take one, assuming everyone else hasn't already made off with them. It'll be a nice way to round off the season.
