How's it going? I know you're probably busy like everyone else lately, but I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing! Things were kind of crazy in Aqures Tosf and I haven't gotten around to see if everyone made it back all right.

It sounds like the city repairs are going well, so I hope you're getting by okay. If you need help with anything, just ask! Or I'm always up for just talking or something.

[He's honestly concerned about everybody -- but to be totally honest, he's also a bit bored. His leg's been treated and a lot of bedrest was recommended, and having his moogle hanging over him to make sure he moves as little as possible has kind of sucked. Where you once might have noticed Ven out and about the town every day, now he's rarely been seen since the Heroes' return.

Unless you're a fellow resident of B-10. Then you might be well aware of the insomnia keeping him up lately, if the fact that he's been busying himself during odd hours of the night with reading in the living room or cooking in the kitchen -- and looking exhausted during the day -- is any indication. He can be found around the house most hours, either inside as mentioned above or hanging around in the yard, watching the sky or observing the repair efforts of neighboring houses.

Humor him, friends, he needs the distraction.]

It's going well. Tempest is mostly working alone to fix up the shop. I'm not very good at some tasks so she's asked me not to help. I'm feeling better than I had been before though a lot has happened. I hope to keep spirits up.

I'm afraid I have my hands full helping out those at the observatory as well as supporting some relieve towards the civilians that lost their homes. I've been trying to help organize food and blankets for people without home and those who've lost family. There is a lot to do so I'm sorry I can't come see you in person.

You should listen to Mograe. It's clear that your moogle knows best and have your best interest at heart.

I hope I'll be able to stop by at some point but I fear you will be up and training by that point. Whatever you choose to do, please stay safe. There are people worrying about your health.

I've been pretty busy trying to get the lab up and running. It's a lot of work, but I do think it will help us out in the long run. Although, it's not quite so bad that I couldn't take a break if you wanted to have tea with me some afternoon. Let me know if you're interested.

Also, Mograe is right and you shouldn't push yourself too hard. Your health is important.

Everything's been going fine over here. ♥  Unfortunately, one of our friends went home, so things have been kind of quiet over here.  But I still have Luke, the Colonel, and everyone at the cafe, so I'm okay.  

(But just between you and me, I think they're still really upset about the dream thing, and super upset about what happened at Aqures Tosf).

That's too bad about your friend. But I'm glad you still have others from your world! It must be nice to be together even here, huh?

The thing at Aqures Tosf was pretty crazy, but I'm sure we'll all figure out how to make the best of it, at least. Especially once we all get together to talk about it.

And yeah, I'd love to try your baking! I can cook okay, but I think cookies are the only thing I've ever baked. And that's been a while. [And he had help then but shhh. What skill he lacks in the kitchen is made up for in battle, clearly!!] Maybe I can learn something from you while I'm at it! And I've got more free time than I know what to do with, actually. [And then, also a postscript -- while Ven's aware that both sides suffered some serious losses, well. Those soldiers are the reason he's in the state he's in, for one. It's difficult to irritate Ven, really, let alone genuinely anger him, but once that's accomplished, his grudges can run deep.]

Oh yeah, did your shop pull through OK? I hope there's not much to fix up. I took a look around after we got back and a lot of the shops and houses were in bad shape. Everyone seems really eager to help, though. [Himself included, but. Doctor's orders are ~~lame~~ doctor's orders... although he's managed to pitch in for some small tasks nonetheless.]

And yeah, I'm doing fine! I saw a doctor back in Aqures Tosf and Rae had a couple of the mages here take a look at me. They just want me to get a lot rest and keep the pressure off it. It's a lot better now! I'm just pretty bored to be honest, but I can't complain.

There is some to fix up and I've already assisted the woman at the fabric shop so please don't worry yourself about that. As I stated, Tempest won't let me help, a lot of glass has to be replaced and she doesn't want me to hurt myself.

I'm trying to bring some of the plants back but until the greenhouse is fixed... well, I feel like I'm just fighting to keep them alive.

I'm really glad you are staying in bed. When you are up, feel free to stop by! I don't know if I can make it to you... I'm sorry.

It's good to hear from you too! I kind of figured that you would definitely be busy. There's a lot to do and catch up on, huh? I thought we would be busy with rebuilding and figuring things out, but I guess there's a lot more to it. They won't let me help with the heavy work [--because Rae had to go and tell everyone that he's injured and that he would try to hide it in order to help -- which he would have, but that's beside the point!!--] but if you need a hand with anything else, I'm free! I could make some blankets at least if you need anymore.

[Handsewing that would be a pain time-wise, but... well. He has the time, for sure.]

...Except okay yeah, it is kind of a thing, and Mograe busted him (again) before he could even start. So when Yuna tries the door, she'll find it unlocked, and Ven's and Rae's voices can be heard in the kitchen.]

Well -- still, you don't have to do all of it, y'know-- [Hearing his name, Ven makes his way into the living room (with Rae at his shoulder and an annoyed Don't move so fast, kupo!!) and grins when he sees Yuna.]

Yunie! Hey! Come on in!

[Yuna steps inside, closing the door carefully behind her.]

Everything okay?

[She has no doubt that Ven doesn’t want to sit still and she’s sure that some movement might be good for him so that his limbs don’t suffer atrophy but this seems a little excessive; on both sides. She glances between Mograe and Ven before giggling softly at the two.]

Do you always fight like this?

Right. Since she's gone, that lab is ours now. There's a lot of interesting stuff in there, but I don't really have the academic background to understand most of it. I am hoping the people who are going to run it will let me stay on as an administrative assistant though.

Are you free tomorrow afternoon? You could stop by my house around four. Mograe is welcome too, of course.

[Ven moves his arms behind his head as Rae crosses her arms.]

We're not fighting!

[It's said by both of them at the same time, and they trade surprised looks. Ven grins, at least.] Yeah, everything's fine! They just said to keep the pressure off it and not stand up too long -- but Rae worries too much.

[Rae huffs.] And you don't worry enough, kupo! They said three weeks--

--and in a few days, it'll have been three weeks. They didn't say I had to stay in bed the whole time.

No, but I bet you didn't tell them that you ran around with that injury for days before getting it treated! You shouldn't take it so lightly, kupo!

[Ven... can't argue that first part, SO he's just gonna turn to Yuna again.] Well, anyway--! Rae made us lunch! She's a good cook, so I think you'll like it!

[Flattery will get you nowhere, Ventus. Still, Rae drops the charges (for now) and gestures towards the kitchen, noticing the things Yuna's carrying.] Yes, please come in, kupo! Can I help you with those?

[Yuna can’t stop smiling at the pair. If need be she’ll find a way to convince Ven to rest. She just needs to think of something that might entertain him but keep him in bed. The first idea that comes to mind is stories but she isn’t sure how entertaining that might be and she doesn’t have many happy stories.]

Ah, yes. Thank you.

[She hands over the small box to Rae. It has a few cakes in it this time, all cute and small and delicious.

She steps forward, following Ventus and Rae into the kitchen. She watches Ven making sure that he takes a seat at the table before she positions herself across from him.]

If you had waited I could have helped. I’m sorry you did it alone Rae.

[She smiles brightly, truthfully she had come over with the intention of making Ven rest as well.]

I'm sure you'll all figure it out! Especially with so many people working together. I'm not sure how I could help, but if you need a hand with any of it, I can try!

[Rae makes quick work of taking the box to the kitchen, setting it on the table where some plates and things are already waiting for the other two. There's also a plate of sandwiches, along with some sliced fruit because we're trying to be healthy here. Once she's also certain that Ven has taken a seat, she shakes her head at Yuna.]

It's no trouble, kupo! I like helping around the house. It's a nice change from all the chaos over at the office. [She shoots Ven a brief look, since he clearly hasn't believed her when she said as much to him before. He either doesn't notice or doesn't acknowledge it, instead speaking to Yuna again.]

So you said you've been helping civilians, right? How's the restoration going?

[He can only see as far as the view from the yard, after all. 8'( ]

[Yuna smiled at both of them, her gaze flicking evenly between them as they talk to her. First she smiles at Rae knowing that the little moogle is trying her best.]

I can't imagine how hectic the office might get. I'm glad you are here and with Ven. [It's good that he isn't alone while trying to heal, or in his case, get up and walk around.]

The repairs are going as well as expected. Things are slowly moving along. We are getting support and food from some neighboring areas but I can't tell who. I've been mostly trying to help organize food storage and helping those who've lost something or someone.

[Alice has been working very hard every day since the heroes returned to the city, so it's about time she took a day off. In addition to the tea, she's also made scones, cucumber sandwiches, and small tarts. She hasn't done this much baking since she left home. Her original home. Alice and her sister would bake together frequently. Lorina was better at it, of course, but Alice can still manage a decent tea service. She has everything set up on the coffee table in the living room in time for Ven's arrival. Her moogle will be attending also, on the promise to be on his best behavior.

Spade, for his part, is ecstatic that she's done all this fancy baking just for him. The little moogle is decently sure she did this for him. And possibly invited some other unimportant guest. Ah, his hero is as thoughtful as she is beautiful.]

Dear Ventus,

I was talking to Mograe when she was out delivering your letters and she told me what you were going through. I know I'm maaaaybe not the best moogle to say this but be careful about how you push yourself. Try to get some rest so you feel better.

But also thank you very much for helping us defend Mognet Central. It means a lot to all of us that you Heroes were watching out for us. That's why I want to be a Hero too. I want us to be able to stand for ourselves and fight by your side.

That's good to hear. It sounds like things are better off than we were thinking. ["We" being most of the Heroes when they were stuck in Aqures Tosf. A few were direct with their concerns, while he just happened to overhear others.] Once all the civilians come back, everything should get back to normal pretty quickly, right?
