"Perfect!" Lydia fiddled with the bent-frame and wires, hooking somethings around the wheels and around under the seat. Then she frowned. "BP, can you grab the small bag with the nuts in it?" A pause. "Not the kupo-nuts!"
There was a loud bitten of curse cut short of something, and then a few seconds later a moogle zipping down the stairs bearing a small bag. "Had me all excited there Lyds kupo." He grumbled to himself, while Lydia played with the pieces in the bag. Fixing them around certain points, then tightening it.
"There! You can put it down now Yuffie! Thanks!" Grinning, brushing her bangs from her eyes. "Thank you too Betel-Po." The little moogle waved it off, and went to grump to himself and find the bag of kupo-nuts.
Coming to take the bike so it'd stay upright, Lydia was proud as she explained. "So that, is a frame that's common in my world and used to attach bags to bicycles. Kind of as a counterpart to the basket. I plan to lash the duffle bag and my sword to it, so I can take them with me when I go."
Yuffie was watching curiously. BP made her giggle which she was sure the little moogle didn’t appreciate. She shook her head as she slowly lowered the bike to the ground. “I guess this is part of her ingenious plan.” She smiled taking a look at the bike and frame curiously. It wasn’t a bad idea and she was sure if MarKus was here he’d commend the young girl.
“Sounds like it will work.”
She was still eternally grateful that Lydia was leaving. It was selfish, for Yuffie to stay and for Lydia to go but the young princess didn’t care. She didn’t want her friends to get hurt. Sometimes things are easier without friends and yet, she wouldn’t want to live that way again.
It had been so lonely.
Yuffie stepped up next to Lydia peering down at her work a little bit more closely. “I guess… since I’m here, well, do you need anything else?”
Betel-Po didn't mind, grinning at Yuffie in turn and fluttering over. "She owes me kupo-nuts." With a small smirk, while Lydia stuck her tongue out at him.
"Not really, aside from to give you your present." Lydia smiled, before her expression turned serious. "I want you to be safe. I mean, ok, no where is going to be safe considering it's war..." A frown. "...but be as safe as you can, ok Yuffie? You're my friend, and I worry."
Yuffie grinned at the thought of a present. "Yeah, I'll be safe. Hey! let me see what it is?!" She glanced around the room skipping over the war and life threatening part because presents were far more interesting.
She didn't see anything in plan sight so she assumed that Lydia hid it in a weird place.
Lydia grinned, waiting in the doorway as Yuffie snooped. She didn't mind them not really focusing on the serious topics too much. So long as Yuffie did stay as safe as she could, that would be enough for Lydia for now.
"Did you really think with a friend who can turn invisible I'd leave it in an obvious place?" Teasing, giggling a bit as she headed over to her bed and fished under the pillow. Pulling out a carefully wrapped package in paper. "I hope it fits, and I hope you like it." Passing it to the older teen, Yuffie would unwrap the parcel to find a cute pixie hooded jacket with green accent-stitching. Lydia herself looked proud and eager for her reaction.
Yuffie tore into the wrapping with a wide smile. She wasn't used to getting presents from friends like this and she could only guess what it might be. Seeing the dark fabric made her smile widen. Like Lydia, she liked her darker colors.
As she pulled it out, it took some concentration to find the top and to slip it over her thin shoulders. Once she had the new garment on she smiled again and then danced in a circle.
"This is so cool. What do you think?" She turned and then flicked up the hood.
"I think I'm glad you like it." Lydia responded, grin widening and she rocked on her heels in happiness. "But no, it suits you. I'm not sure it's the best for sneaking, but I thought the pixie-ish appearance would be something you'd like."
Lydia really was pleased Yuffie liked it. The only bright accent was the green which was a vibrant shade that complimented the dark-eggplant purple well. Lydia was proud of herself with it, truly. Glad she could make her friend happy too.
Yuffie was happy and a little impressed. It was put together well and while she was apt at fixing her clothing when it ripped she hadn’t thought to make something this intricate before. She smiled at Lydia, lightly scratching the back of her head nervously.
“I guess this means I should get you something?” That’s how gifts worked right? Except that she wasn’t very good at getting people things. Yuffie’s skill was in taking things.
Lydia shrugged, then putting her hands behind her back as she rocked happily. "Only if you want to. I didn't make you a gift with the idea of it being returned. Besides, you've done a lot for me already."
Yuffie really had, and Lydia appreciated her a lot. Very glad they were friends, and she really hoped she'd stay safe.
"Be safe Yuffie, and yes. We'll definitely have to get together." Lydia shoots her a thumbs up, and a wave. She'll go back to finishing up her packing after this, so she can leave whens he needs to.

She turned towards the window, stretching her arms out to either side. "I should really head out. I'll see you when you come back, right?"
