I don't 'hire' per say but I'm interested in a partner who will go looking for rare treasures with me.

We'd split what we find and I don't like Triple Triad so if I find cards there yours.

Would this experience involve carrying large objects by chance? Or maybe a test to see if your really up to it.

I'm game, splitting the treasure is how I like to operate. I can do bigger things but I'm more finesse than muscle. If you need to test me go ahead but only if I get to test you in return.

Hello? I'm here to inquire about a job.

Job? Wat job... Oh right, MarKus did write that thing.

"A job, huh? How good are you with a hammer?" he asks. Not aware this was the guy he had mentioned needing a 'thief' for, he really thinks Locke is there to take up the trade, regardless of job class.

I can do the hammer thing, but it's not really what I'm good at. I'm a Treasure Hunter, one of the best.

"Well you're dressed like..." MarKus just let's it go.

"Then you ARE that guy. Good. There are things I need. Very specific, important things. I need Crystals." he says. "And they're different from the ones we get when we got here." the blacksmith clarifies.

"You will get paid for what you bring me. But if you can't find any, then keep a look out for ores and shit. Precious metals. I need them for weapons as well. To which, as a deal... incentive, I can make you something better than what they gave you. Something you feel more comfortable with."

I'm game. Got diagrams or pictures of what I'm looking for?

MarKus opens his mouth to speak.

"No..." Well shit. "But I imagine that they'll look like shiny glowing rocks. They're used to power some things so, when you nab one it'll be obvious."

Even he's not wholly prepared for the inquisition to come. He doesn't even realize that only a fully experienced 'Thief' can get them.

All right, I can do that. Just be warned, I'll expect payment no matter what I turn up. Without any kind of reference, I'll have to go by my intuition and if it's not what you're looking for, you'll still need to take it.

As long as you put some fair effort into it, I can't be mad at that. It's only fair. I'll pay for that, I mean, I figure at the least whatever you manage to bring back'll be valuable one way or another.

They do if you can find valuable stuff while doing it.

Why would you want to get paid to go on an adventure? Isn't the whole point to go out there and, ya' know, have an adventure? That's a whole lot more fun than some stinky ol' sack of gold and jewels.

Well yes, but if you find some treasure while you're at it you can make a tidy living too.

I guess that makes sense. So, you get paid to have fun?

Pretty much. That's what life is about right? Figuring out how to get paid to do what you want?

Does that mean you could be paid in meat if you wanted? That's what I'd do.

I guess. But why would you take meat when you can buy meat with money and still have some to buy other stuff you need.

You have been in a volcano? How were you able to survive its tremendous heat? I have no need of your services so far, but I am curious about your adventure.
