Addressed Formally to All Heroes
[The following letter arrives on pale blue stationery, elegantly written by a decidedly feminine hand. It doesn't appear familiar...]
Dear Heroes of Light,
I write to you from the contaminated city of Trano Golsaucia. As most of you are no doubt aware, the threat of powerful monsters is especially prevalent in this area, and they will not be daunted by city walls. The Tarutarus who live here will not be persuaded to leave their home in spite of the danger, nor do I believe they should have to. As Heroes who possess the skills and courage to fight these monsters, I would expect at least five of you to come to the city immediately and drive off the current threat. Needless to say I will be assisting you in these efforts.
In the meantime, the rest of you would do well to search for a Diamond Crystal in order to decontaminate this area from Narayana's vile influence. Security details made specifically to fight monsters is only a temporary solution that doesn't address the root of the problem. These people deserve a safe place to live. Please make your way here promptly so that we may begin our work.
Sincerely Yours,
Princess Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear
[OOC: Who is this bossy new hero? Who knows. You might ask the Moogle delivering the letters, who will cheerfully answer any rudimentary questions, just like he answered Natalia's barrage of questions over the past couple of days...which might explain why she knows about Narayana and crystals. Natalia might need someone to go get her since there aren't any airships available. A prompt for this will go up on the intro log!]

Thank you for the information. I knew strong monsters had returned to the uncrystallized areas, but I hadn't heard the news about Trano Golsaucia. I'll be there as quickly as I can. Protecting people from monsters is what I've trained to do in my world, after all. Is there somewhere I should meet you when the airship arrives?

[In the past, she hadn't had the best relationship with the princess. But it'd also been two years, and she'd been through a lot since then. Anybody from home that was still a plus in her book.]
[The reply came back quickly; it was written on pink stationary, and all the I's were dotted with hearts.]
Natalia,
I'm really glad you're here! ♥ Where in Trano Golsaucia are you? The threat there is really dangerous, so you probably shouldn't handle it alone, especially if you just got here.
I'll see you soon,
Love,
Anise ♥

Bossy on the first day I see.
I heard that new heroes were tossed around all over Crystallis. Whereas I have no problems with assisting you, perhaps a please and a thank you would better suffice than demands.
Anyway, I can grab a few of my guys and we can lead some folks to safety. Contamination isn't pretty obviously.

The airship docks still appear to be in relatively good shape, so I believe this meeting place would suffice. I'll be certain to keep a close eye on the skies so I may anticipate your approach. For your assistance, you have my deepest thanks.
Sincerely,
Natalia

How good it is to know you're here! I was quite vexed at the thought of being spirited away to this world completely on my own, particularly before such an important battle. But I suppose the one we face here is just as vital too, is it not? In any case, I am delighted to know that I have at least one friend and ally that I may depend upon.
I've currently taken residence in one of the more inexpensive hotels near the casino for the time being. Though I've little means of judging the rates of currency in this world, the price does seem rather high. I suppose if they're gathering funds for the sake of repairs and hiring defenders, I cannot truly object.
Can I trust you to come to this city's aid? I'm counting on you.
Sincerely,
Natalia

Well! Given the rude and condescending tone of your letter, I think you're hardly in a position to lecture me on my manners. Do you insist that the people beg for your help before you choose to give it? I should sincerely hope not! Nonetheless, if it is gratitude you desire, you shall have it once the threat to this place has been neutralized, and not a moment sooner.
Cordially,
Natalia

Natalia,
Where in Trano Golsaucia are you? If needed, I can be by your side at once. [ In fact, she's already calling Sein over for the job switch—get over here you fluffball! ] I would be glad to assist you and the citizens in your efforts to make the city safer, and understand your desire to see that fulfilled.
However, I do want to inform that the negligence isn't necessarily because of a lack of wanting to help. With the crystallisation overtaking so much of the world, efforts have been spread thin. In fact, we weren't even able to reach that region since it crystallised until a week or so ago.
It would be better to explain all of this in person, but I am willing to help you in whatever way better suits you.
— Tear.

I have no idea what you mean by that. There isn't a single thing implied about my tone in the letter.
I'm a pretty generous guy you know but you can't just receive without giving. It's how it works right? The law of exchange or something like that!
Neutralizing threats are my specialty. Aren't you lucky? Tell me you're going to be helpful too aren't you?
-- Yuri
[ He totally dropped the princess and just called her Natalia on top of more sarcastic tones in his letters. ]

Dear Tear,
I cannot begin to express how pleased I am to know that you are here, and willing to help. You have my gratitude and respect.
So the crystal monsters are very recent, then? I see. It is no wonder, then, that the people of this city are so ill-equipped to handle them. It explains the lack of response from the Heroes of Light as well. It's reassuring to know that it isn't merely a case of negligence as I initially feared.
Certainly I would be willing to speak with you. If you are able to make the journey, I will come to meet you at the airship docks. I've heard there's a very special ship designed especially for our transport, as the conventional ships no longer come here on a scheduled basis.
I do hope you are well, truly.
Your Friend,
Natalia

Yuri,
I believe I already stated that I have every intention of fighting this threat, and have dedicated a great deal of time and effort since my awakening in this world. Please don't assume that I can't keep up simply because of my royal title.
But very well. If you insist on compensation, we can discuss your terms once you arrive. I would prefer not to waste any further time trading letters, for there is far too much work to be done. When shall I expect you?

Natalia,
Regrettably Trano Golsaucia has become the latest casualty in the wake of Narayana's continued expansion and it's believed that the retreat of the crystallization has left behind it the corrupted lands that are the real face of the effects Narayana has on this world.
Aside from, as you say, locating a Diamond Crystal, there is little and less that can be done to solve the plight of those denizens whom did not seek refuge from those endangered areas. The military forces of the Esdham republic are already fully deployed between keeping the peace within those locations which still continue to receive refugees, and safeguarding the frontiers of Narayana's corruption as best they are capable.
While it is far from an amicable solution, pending the means to reverse Narayana for good, I would strongly encourage yourself and those that you might be able to persuade, to evacuate while there is still the ability to do so and the frontier remains within reach.
Sincerely,
Sephiroth

Natalia,
Oh-- You caught that? Well guilty as charged. Unfortunately, I'd have to see it for my self princess. Corrupt monarchs are a typical thing I deal with. Certainly, I'm already heading there as we speak! I sure hope your feathers aren't too ruffled. Time is not wasted if I am already on the move!
Pretty soon, I assume.

Am I to understand that you've given up before even making the attempt to help these people? How utterly deplorable! Trano Golsaucia is not a casualty to be buried and dismissed, it is the birthplace and home to thousands of this world's people. I may not expect the military forces of other countries to respond, but as a Hero of Light, you should be ashamed of yourself.
While I thank you for your concern, I refuse to abandon this city. These people have a right to protect and defend their homes, and I will not deny them that right simply because it is more convenient for us.
Nonetheless, I will grant you the benefit of the doubt: If this is simply a matter of lacking strength but still harboring a desire to make yourself useful, see to it that the merchants who specialize in the trade of food and medical supplies do not continue their despicable habit of raising prices because they know their customers are too desperate to refuse.
Sincerely,
Princess Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear

It is well that you deem to take your new role as what the people of this world call "Heroes of Light". However, crystals of that type are rare and hard to come by. To add to that, but any use of crystal may prove as effective as patrols in the long run with the very real threat Narayana currently poses not over just this world, but all of ours as well. Thus while the more combat oriented would be best to search for what you seek, it is more imperative that we focus also on eradicating the threat at it's source.
Doubtless you'll have several volunteers, but I must regrettably decline. Time is not on our side.

Oh? Then pray tell, just what is it exactly that all of us should be doing at this very moment? I have yet to hear anyone offer any tangible solutions, but there seem to be plenty of excuses. I would hope that you didn't write to me just to express your indignation, as that would be a waste of time indeed. Do not presume that I would be too proud or ignorant to ignore the true threat of this world. I am perfectly capable of taking action, once it is clear what actions I am able to take. If you would be so kind as to provide a list, perhaps I will be able to better evaluate my options.
Sincerely,
Princess Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear

Just Pyrrha is fine. I'll make my way there as quickly as I can. I have red hair and golden armor, so that you'll know who to watch for.

I commend you for your foresight. I'm quite certain you'll be difficult to mistake for any other with a description like that! My hair is blonde and cut short, and I will likely be carrying a bow. I'm certain we shall recognize one another straightaway. Safe journey to you!
Gratefully Yours,
Natalia
mognet -> action?
Thank you. I'll be leaving on the next airship.

Re: mognet -> action?

On the contrary, I did not write to simply express my "indignation", as you so put it; but to inform. To simply focus on one task when many others yet needs be done isn't aide, it is ignorance and folly. Alas, since I am away on assignment, I regret that my Moogle neglected to add the synopsis as I requested, and seek forgiveness for his misstep. He is not as well versed in the rhetoric and intricacies of the higher classes and royalty.

Inquistor Ellana Lavellan

[Attached is a copy of the letter with the synopsis of all the ongoings so far that Jade and Rukia worked upon; one she had to send word to Falon to attach to this letter on account of being deployed in another area than both Natalia and away from Aqures Ixen.]
> action?
Though the Heroes are not among the most organised, I want to reassure you that our dedication to helping the populace is without end.
While there is a ship that would grant us access to Trano Golsaucia, there are other means of reaching there much faster and I'm fortunate to have one of them at my disposal, therefore I will not be keeping you long. I need only to prepare first, and will look for you.
— Tear.
[ Because she was so not prepared for being in the city the first time, with all its extreme cold. ]
action!
Tear,
Faster than a ship? My, I wonder what it could be! I look forward to seeing you soon. I'm currently staying in the honeymoon suite of the Diamond Junction (it's a long story, I'm afraid). If I'm not present when you arrive, contact my Moogle. He will ensure that I am made aware as soon as possible.
~ Natalia
[If Tear thought it was cold before, it's much worse when the sun doesn't even touch the tainted area. The snow continues to build on lawns and gardens, where the industrious street shovelers find it unnecessary to clear it away.]
[And where is Natalia? Huddled conspiratorially with a Mysidian Primal Moogle, working to blacklist a merchant that's quintupled the price of food to Trano Golsaucia while still charging other cities a normal rate. A small hike in price would have been expected to compensate for the danger in travel, but this is pure greed. They'll force her to unharden her unscrupulous little heart soon enough, oh ho ho ho...]
Agreed. Please pass this onward to Balicea and Esdham.
[The Moogle bobs its head, pompom swaying, before toddling swiftly away. It's sheer luck that Natalia turns and happens to spot Tear, and as soon as she does, her face brightens.]
Tear! I trust you made your journey safely without any complications? It is so good to see you.
action!
Quickly making her way over to the princess, Tear raised her eyebrows as the Moogle went off to deliver the message Natalia just tasked it with. ] There's no need to send him through all the effort, I can take the message to Esdham as well.
[ But enough with the formal business, now it was time for Tear to make her happiness and relief known in the form of a smile meant to reassure the princess. ] I made it safely, one of the effective skills I have at my disposal is the ability to Teleport to to locations I have been to, so it wasn't any trouble.
[ Shaking her head lightly, the girl gave the other a lookover just to make sure everything about her was as it should be. ] I... really am glad to see you, Natalia. I trust you're okay?
no subject
[She bobs her head with a bright smile, touched by Tear's concern. Her reply is given honestly (this time), and she does seem to be in good health and decent spirits despite her disappointment in the majority of the Heroes of Light.]
I suppose that skill comes with one of the many Crystal Jobs we're assigned? It does seem useful.
[It might be something to consider when she picks out her other Jobs in the future, but it might be best for her to focus on diversity rather than duplicating someone else's talents.]
Well, no sense in dawdling, right? What do you need? Shall we get you settled at the inn, or would you prefer to see the state of the city first?
