A Couple of Letters

I'm sure you've seen the Valentine's Day match-up posters. I can't say I put much faith into the matchmaking abilities of Moogles, but I would certainly like to get to know who my #1 happens to be. Next time you're in Mysidia, drop me a line. I've become fairly well-acquainted with the area, and would be happy to serve as a tour guide.

We have yet to make one another's acquaintance, but there's a serious matter I intend to pursue within the next month. I was told you had a rather nasty encounter with some of the slavers lurking around the city of Mysidia. I would like to know more about the identities of these people, what they looked like, where they operated, and other things of that nature. My condolences for the hardships you suffered. I intend to smash the whole ring, if you are willing to provide me the information I seek.

I don't want to talk about this over a letter. Though I might not have as many details as you'd hope. Those guys were good at what they did, I guess.

[Should Jaeha come to meet him, Johnny will be wrapping up a set at 11, putting his guitar away before ordering himself a drink and settling into an unoccupied corner booth.]

[When Jaeha finally receives this letter, he stares at it with a blank smile. Erm. This could be a problem. Perhaps he should have mentioned that he isn't living in Aqures Ixen. WELP. Johnny will get his answer, just a couple of days later than he was expecting.]

I apologize for my lack of clarity, but I'm currently residing in Mysidia. For reasons I don't care to explain, I have no intention of returning to Aqures Ixen unless there is an emergency situation. I understand you would probably not wish to revisit Mysidia so soon. Perhaps we can arrange a meeting somewhere else? Trano Golsaucia is reported to be a nice place, I wouldn't mind checking it out.

You've got that right. But any excuse to visit Trano and I'm there. If we're going to travel to meet, it might as well be the place with all the exciting stuff going on.

I can meet whenever. Not like I have much else going on.

[It takes a little more time to finalize an appointment, but eventually, they make it work. Jaeha's made it difficult for himself to travel outside of Mysidia, but he did so with the intention of not being bothered or pursued. Since no one has tried to put more pressure on him after his departure, he's begun to relax, enough that he doesn't mind striding on board the Enterprise as if he naturally belongs there.]

[And then there's Trano Golsaucia. It's quite flashy, and the people are friendly, but he's fairly sure their affection stems from a need to draw in sales, so he doesn't place a lot of stock in it. Doesn't mean he can't enjoy the excessive friendliness, though.]

[The plaza is a nice place to meet up. It's a large, open space with people passing through at all hours of the day. He'd been concerned that Johnny might have fingered Jaeha as an incognito slaver, so he's tried his best to ensure that kind of impression isn't picked up. He doesn't mind giving up some of his creature comforts if that's what it takes to accomplish his goals. Just one meeting is all he needs.]

[He relaxes on a lime green park bench, arms slung over the back with an ankle on his knee. It's cold, but he's got a nice thick coat and a pair of snug gloves. He'll be fine.]

[Johnny's a fan of Trano Goldsaucia. He likes the night life, getting lost in a crowd, and the cold weather never bothered a New Yorker like him. He even came early, spending what little he had in some casinos and bars, before meeting Jaeha. He'd be sure to come sober - he didn't think this guy was going to try anything, but he wasn't going to take his chances, either.

He looks around for the right bench, scanning the crowd for Jaeha, but Johnny's much easier to pick out that the other way around. When he thinks he has the right person, he walks over, greeting him with just a nod of the head.]

That's funny... Not that I bothered taking it very seriously at all, but you were only my #2.

My work doesn't really permit me leaving the city anytime soon, but I'll keep that in mind in the event that I ever make an outing.
