If that answers your question; we didn't pick you. The legends are very vague regarding the chosen, none of them are mentioned by name. All that is said is that you come from other worlds, possess Crystals, can switch Jobs and that only you can defeat the "Calamity." Going strictly by the Legends, the four Great Crystals did summon you. Does that mean you're picked at random? I don't think so, but I have no way to prove it.

As for the child-- I heard about it, I believe she's living in your house? No worries, nobody here's expecting her to fight. I was going to send her a letter about our schools by the end of the month. We can't force her to go to school given she's not strictly under our jurisdiction, but I would appreciate it if you could slip a a word about it to her.

As far as I know, a lot of you are young. I know of at least one other who supposedly looks like a nine-year old, but I do not know her age for certain.

And as much as I agree that we should address these answers to everyone-- We neither have the time nor the means. We've learnt about your arrival roughly ten days ago, and then we've had to cope with the panic ensuing the Queen's disappearance while organizing the Festival of Light. Not to mention we're constantly under the threat of an Imperial attack, among other things.
