[To: Jade]
Jade,
Just to inquire, when are you intending to return to Esdham? I think that it might be prudent to approach Jessie with regards to the scan of the clear crystals while we both have the time.
According to Biggs, we might well be too busy shortly to be able to come away so easily.
~Sephiroth
[To: Lydia]
Miss Deetz,
I hope that you'll forgive that the meeting didn't hold much opportunity for introductions and I appreciate it must be a great deal to have taken on board.
Are you still keen for the crystal scan that was discussed?
~Sephiroth
[To: Yuffie]
Yuffie,
I hope that you are well. Would appreciate if you could let me know when would be suitable for a rendezvous with Jessie?

Anytime, I made no plans. I might have something to do later this month so make it sooner rather than later.
~The Great Ninja Pirate Princess Yuffie~
[21st May]
Jessie will not be available until sometime in June, unsurprisingly she's a lot of work on.
This'll have to be put on hold, for the time being.

[21st May]
Just say when. I don't think my crystal is going to change back any time soon.
[She isn't going to address it.]

I would say in about a day or two. I'm currently having a look at an Ancient computer purchased from O'aka. With Jessie's translation program, it shouldn't take long.

Well noted.
Sometimes I can't help but wonder as to O'aka's sources, though I know that Jessie does trust him. I'm sure you're already aware, I personally would be very interested to learn of these Custom Jobs.

You are not the only one. I'll deliver the file to Jessie as soon as it's ready. If anyone can make use of it, it would be her.

[22nd May]
To let you know, I've been to visit Jessie.
She's obtained some new equipment from O'aka which prevented a previous line of research into our crystals from going further - however unsurprisingly she's swamped with work this month so the earliest we could arrange for any appointment wouldn't be until June.
I may well return to Esdham as well, in the interim, as I'm certain we're both going to be needed there. Biggs imparted some news to me with regards to the Empire pushing forwards with the development of it's fleet - things are bound to get much busier soon.

Understood. I'll see you at the headquarters, then.

Mr. Sephiroth. I've been on the go non-stop almost since arriving here, what's one more thing to take 'on board'? ^_^ I wouldn't say I'm keen, but I am willing. It's worth finding more out about the differences in the crystals.
How long have you been here?
Sincerely
Lydia Deetz

Thank you for your reply, I'll let you know once I've visited Jessie.
To answer yours - I was one of the first brought here. I estimate around close to a year ago now, judging by how the weather is now turning warm again.

Wow. Has it been hard for you to be here? Are you the only one from your world? Were you experienced at all in traveling to other worlds before?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm still adjusting, and learning. It seems like those here who are used to already traveling to at least one other world, are in the minority. The sheer variety of the different worlds is kind of neat and a little scary, to me, as well. I'm in school here in Aquares Ixen, to try and learn about the people and situations. Balancing that with all the things I'm trying to do as a 'hero' has been tricky. I'm getting training though, to at least try and learn to take care of myself and fight as part of a group.
I'm...used to strange adventures. Mostly because I travel regularly to a place called the Neitherworld. My best friend lives there, and his magic allows me to get there. Even though we've been in quite a few scrapes and hairy situations, we usually get out with his magic, and being clever and sneaky.
Sincerely,
Lydia

That's quite something.
For myself, inter-dimensional travel isn't something that fit in with the known physics of the World that I'm from. When I arrived there were a few others here from my World too, the majority of them are still here; though there are a couple who have slipped into stasis.
Crystallis has taken a long while to adjust to, in many ways I too am still adjusting. To learn all it's secrets would require so much more than just to live here for a lifetime, I think.
It's good to hear that you've taken it by the horns, so to speak.

Lydia is fine. I don't mind; I've had to learn a few different forms of addressing people here, but I am well aware names have power. I just don't mind being called by my own.
What was your world like? Who else is from there?
I seem to be the only one from my world here. At least, my version of my world. It seems like there are a few different people from "Earth", and who even recognize my country. But they don't seem to be 'my' version, if that makes sense?
I'm keeping an open-mind, and I won't say it hasn't been difficult at times. Getting out of the Empire was so not fun. But I've been lucky to make some good friends. I'm also not really someone who likes to sit and be idle unless I'm doing something that means I need to be idle. Like reading, or sketching. I DO miss having film here, to go with my camera. There's so much I wanna photograph and document!
Sincerely,
Lydia

All right, then you should know I'm no "Mr." either.
I suppose the best way to put it would be to say that my World is more advanced technologically than this one. Though there are a few stand-up similarities, but I'm sure that's the same for everyone. You must have seen Yuffie - she's from my World too.
We've had someone here before too, like that, who was from the same World but not the same version so it might surprise you to know that it makes more sense than you might think.
I know that feeling. Perhaps you should ask around at the school, I've found before that a lot of the students are full of interesting ideas and not just hobbies. I'm sure you'll find something to occupy your time.
[Mental note about the camera; he wonders where Angeal's did actually go to...]

I do know Yuffie! She's helping teach me a bit, along with Mr. Kenshin and Ms. Armstrong. We get along well, although I've been worried about her. She's seemed...depressed? But like she's hiding it well, since the escape. I know they did horrible things to her before the rest of us all arrived.
What did you do in your world? A lot of this world so far has resembled older European history from mine--except for the actual existence of monsters, and magic. Mostly it's been in the superficial aspects, like building design or food or clothing.
I've had plenty of things to occupy my time--it's been finding more time that's been my problem. A welcome problem probably, but wow if there isn't a lot to do. I'm working on paying off the bicycle MarKus built for me by helping at his shop. I'm hoping to help Henry with his shop as well, and then I'm also learning how to defend myself with Ms. Armstrong, as well as Mr. Kenshin and Yuffie. There's also school. I have the 'vampire' job too, so it's been a bit tricky shifting my schedule to learn what I can do with that, so I can learn the skills. I did recently get a silver crystal as a reward from Elizabeth so I can change into a bat. It's so cool!
I've been reading though in my spare time. And drawing. I need a new sketchbook though, as my last one filled up after the...dream we all had. I've been sewing as well, trying to make the room I'm in feel more like 'mine'. I've also been exploring around the city and the very basic outskirts of it, on my bicycle. I should probably go to the chocobo farm sometime too.
Being 'busy' has not been my problem really. I'm used to entertaining myself, as an only child, and my parents do usually encourage my artistic and creative sides. Even if we don't always see eye to eye.
Sincerely,
Lydia

Dear Lydia,
Hardly surprising. Just be careful you don't pick up too many of her bad habits.
Monsters and magic were present on my world. I was part of SOLDIER, which was essentially an elite-fighting force for the Shinra company- I was the best at what I did. I enlisted in the Military here too, but in a lot of ways it's not the same, but it is in some respects. Familiar enough.
Still, you can only survive so far off the pickings of Gils you get from monster hunting so at least it pays a decent wage even if it means I'm usually away from Aqures for long periods of time.
I'm sure you'll adjust fine.

If I can avoid picking up my best friend Beetlejuice's bad habits, I think I can avoid Yuffie's. I included a sketch of him with my letter. He's...interesting; he's actually from another world than I am, and is a ghost. (The Ghost with the most; his magic is amazing!) I know it's kind of odd for a teenager to be friends with a ghost, but he understands me more than most people I meet in my world.
Does being in the military leave you with a lot of free-time? I've been worried for at least one of my friends. I know he was military in his world, but there are some other complications, so while he seems to be adjusting to civilian life, I wonder if there's anything that might help. (Besides that I should write to him and plan an in person visit.) How is the military here? I'm sure she can figure out herself if she wants to join, but Ms. Armstrong was a General in the army in her own world.
Sincerely,
Lydia.
[Included is another page with a sketch. "He's a prankster, and can be a bit insensitive sometimes, but he has a good heart. Just don't tell him I said that."]

The government in Esdham only offers enlistment to the Foreign Legion and for Heroes of Light it's only voluntary so in theory you can work as much or as little as you like. Though I don't see the point signing up for something unless you then follow to put the effort in; it can be hard work, long hours with not much else on other than a structured patrol. Sometimes there are skirmishes with Imperial troops out towards the oasis but infrequently.
Though it's not an occupation that I'd suggest for anyone who is not familiar. Esdham has turned towards it's drier, more desert-like weather now - it's not the most comfortable.
It doesn't surprise me of Ms. Armstrong, given the single occasion that I've spoken with her. She did seem the type.

I've never been anything but a 'civilian', and I don't think I'd be cut out for the military. That isn't to say I haven't been in a few scrapes and had a lot of adventures. I'm just used to being more the sneaky type. What do you do for your downtime and fun? It definitely sounds like you're not one who likes to be idle either.
I'm really pleased she's willing to teach me, and I'm not afraid to work hard. I'll complain at times I'm sure, but it's worth it. I really don't want to be a burden too much, and I want to see SO MUCH of this world! I'm also good at coming up with ideas and organizing people. I don't think I'll ever be able to really go solo on adventures, but I prefer to be in a small group anyways. I'm just working on making it so I can support that group.
Sincerely,
Lydia

You would be right there, I suppose. I can be something of a workaholic when it calls for it.
There is certainly plenty enough of this World to be seen. Personally I think it'd take well over a lifetime to really be able to appreciate all the finer quirks of Crystallis.
Best of luck in your adventures, you should let me know what you find sometime.
