To Everyone:
My name is Aya Brea. I don't know many of you, and I don't expect many of you to know me. I can't imagine that I've made that great of an impression on some of those of you who do, but I should say this.
That person that many of you saw me as was not me. I am not the commander of an army - I don't even consider myself to be that much of a leader. Back home I was a special agent of the FBI just trying to survive, and here I suppose I'm finding myself trying to do the same thing. I have family and friends back home that I care about deeply, and would do anything to try and protect them. This is all I want. I'm sure some of you may feel the same way about the lives they've left behind.
It is easy for people to trust their friends after what happened, but I understand that not many of you know me well enough to say that I can expect the same. After all, I just got here. On one hand it's only been a few weeks since I arrived, and on the other it sometimes feels that I've lived those two years, but again, that is not me. That is not who I will choose to become.
Whether you believe me or not is up to you.
Regards,

You're not so bad yourself. I appreciate it, and I think I would like to get to know you too.
But thanks for giving me a chance. I'm really not someone who can see myself ever wanting to sacrifice the lives of others, even if it's to survive. I can't really say what would happen to make me become that person, if it's even possible at all.
All I know is that I am going to try to stay myself, which I guess is no different than many others in my shoes. [She's seen the flood of mognet letters. She knows what's up.]

I judge people according to their actions. The vision we saw was disturbing, but I can't hold anything anyone did in it against them. At least, not until they've actually chosen that path themselves. I can't say I won't be cautious, but it won't be at the expense of fairness.

It would seem that we have that much in common. Regardless of what I saw, I can promise that I won't be going war-mongering and try to take over any cities anytime soon.
Or, you know, ever.

That's good to know. I think it's much more useful for all of us to work together, and to discuss our differences rather than resorting to violence. I may be trained as a combatant, but I'd prefer to use fighting as a last resort to solve problems.

One more thing we have in common, then. I'm hardly a pacifist, but I also have a very strict "don't shoot first and ask questions later" policy. I like to think it's a good policy to have.
no subject
Yes, I agree. I use my training to protect people and to stop fights, not to go looking for them.
-Pyrrha

I try. Though my training isn't exactly suitable to take down "people," it can come in handy if I have to.

That's another similarity, then. My training is intended primarily to fight monsters. They're known in my world as Grimm.

We call them NMCs where I'm from, as the alternative is a bit of a mouthful - especially when compared to Grimm. ☺

It sounds like both of us should get along fine in this world, considering all the dangerous monsters that live outside the cities. Perhaps we could train together if you'd like.
-Pyrrha

I would like that. I'll take you up on that offer. Wouldn't want to get too comfortable here and end up all rusty.
no subject
Yes, it's important to keep your skills sharp. What kind of weapons do you use?
-Pyrrha
no subject
Guns mostly, but I'm also well-versed in the tonfa baton for mostly non-lethal uses. What about you?
no subject
I carry a small shield and a transforming weapon that can be used as a short sword, a spear, or a rifle.
-Pyrrha

Did I read that right? A weapon that transforms?
Now that sounds like something that'd be useful back home.
no subject
Yes, that's right. They're rather common where I'm from, at least in the Hunter Academies.
-Pyrrha

Hunter Academies?
What exactly did you hunt? If you don't mind my asking.
no subject
The Hunter Academies exist to train talented warriors to fight against monsters called Grimm. They're like animals, but larger and fiercer, warped and twisted by the negative energies they're attracted to.
